I wonder if stamina is a factor. Best seemed to have more (nervous) energy than Light from about game 5 onwards.

Short game sounds better to me in the context of nervousness, it creates a fast and strong pressure spike, while a longer game allows more room for the players to gather themselves.

Best did look shaky in game 6 but I think he still had the mental edge, Light was super tilted especially after the Dominator game

Happy for best. I thought after his awful mistakes in games 1 and 2 that it was the same old best choking in the big games. But he pulled his shit together and dominated from there on in.

Its known among top pros that Light is a tilter, but not in the sense of his execution or micro becoming worse, but him feeling like he HAS to attack or make a move and win decisively, even though its high risk. It happened in all of his losses. Most tilters lose their mechanical edge.

Best really does look sick when he loses. It's like he shits the bed but doesn't stop and so he rises up on his shit until he's crushed between his own mountain of shit and the ceiling.
He looks pretty unstoppable once he starts taking the map and gets into his flow state but making it there is a whole different story. Game 1 and game 6 are especially head scratchers, where he had it in the bag but then decided to rock some serious 4 AM taco bell extra cayenne to maximize the incredibly moist and powerful bed shitting that was to come.
That said, a Best vs Soulkey finals could be amazing. It'd be sick to see Best pick Soulkey up by the collar like Darth did to that guy who might've had the death star plans and throw his BITCH ASS against the wall like an old bag of russets. Go Best.

I know what you're asking, and it's like that scene from jurassic park where Newman drops the can of whipped cream filled with dino eggs into the river before a face off with the spitter dino.
BeSt is both Newman and the spitter, the ultimate auroboros of StarCraft. One moment he's a rapacious mankiller that unfurls horrifying webbing from his face and spits acid, the next moment he's a fat guy who can't drive and just dies there in the rain right before a huge payday.
Not saying BeSt is fat—or that there's anything wrong with fat or being fat—in fact, you could easily argue that he (or anyone, or everyone) is quite fit and handsome. I would. But he definitely shapeshifts into Newman on occasion and Newman's a bit bigger. It isn't even Newman's weight that kills him anyway, but the rain in that scene and his glasses that keep getting wet and fogging up. Luckily, even when BeSt is in his Newman form, he's at least wearing contacts so he avoids that whole thing. But still shits himself.
But BeSt is probably an Allosaurus. When? IDK, tomorrow. Maybe a year ago.
Or maybe a Spinosaurus. I'm changing my answer to Spinosaurus.
