It is all down to chance. Those players can all beat each other over one game. Over one tournament, everything can happen, because the skill gaps are not that dramatic. I kind of wish matches had more games. I could see finals be closer to a chess match and being bo9 or bo11s. I think nerves and experience playing on stage on a foreign desk, with a foreign monitor rather than in the comfort of home has a gigantic impact when you have old legends going against somewhat newer players.

Group C is going to be an absolute bloodbath. And Group D to settle the dust...this ASL is looking hype! Terrans are falling off partly because of group selection actually. It makes no sense to have the group of Rush Royal Speed in Ro24, then Soulkey created the Light Barracks Scan group in Ro16. So that's two potential Ro8 players down just by TvT. Sharp and Speed are always 50/50 against Best and JD. And Rush is unfortunate to be in that group D I don't expect him to come out on top.

He can take out HerO, but not SnOw. But honestly, Group D has 4 player capable of either semi-final or the finals. Its a crazy crazy strong group. Maybe the strongest group ever?

Agreed, the bracket structure has been very unkind to T in setting up a lot of mirror matchups. Top tier P's and Z's have also been beating top T's very consistently. I looked at the win record for each matchup, so far it is (by series record and not games): Overall / top tier matchups PvT 4-2 / 3-0 ZvP 8-4 / 2-1 TvZ 6-8 / 1-4 P 8 T 8 Z 16 TvT 7 PvP 1 ZvZ 0

Strongest ever for me is the Snow Soma Soulkey Queen in ASL14. This one is similar to the Best Soulkey Light Snow group in ASL15. Funnily in both previous cases, the player who eventually finished 1st is the least likely one. But tbh there may be a strongest group in the early seasons not fresh in our memory

In 2025, Best's PvZ and PvT are equally strong and inconsistent, and he can win against anybody in any given day (including Soulkey). His PvP is terrible. How times have changed

Is it me or Jaedong is looking extremely strong these days? I just watched his SooP duel against Stork and without spoiling too much he looked really, really scary. His control also seems so much more on point that it’s been for a while. There are days he can beat anyone and days like he is 1-8 vs Flash or 2-7 vs Rush in showmatch games. In his case it's more of mindset than temporary shape he is in. Ofc not like he could not train at all. Each ASL there is hype JD is looking strong. Personally i believe each stage could be his last as he doesnt have to prove anything. He acomplished everything in esport.

He said he played mainstream when he doubted himself in the past. I believe it to be true. Jaedong is not like Queen, or Soulkey who plays macro and gets annihilated vs mini and goes into a slump. Everything Jaedong does is cheese, however that term does not fully reflect the case with zerg. When Jaedong, or any other zerg plays a build, it is a timing rush just like zvz, so it elevates their play. Otherwise, who would we have on magazine covers muta scourge bombing the first corsair warped from Stargate. Jaedong put antiair zvp into the mainstream just as july put zvt air into the mainstream.

It was really refreshing to see him like that on stage and it made me really happy to see how happy he was with himself after that performance. His thank you speech was so fucking adorable! ^.^ That Snow loss in ASL15 Group D due to map error really pushed him hard. I think he took that lesson pretty close to heart. You shouldn't lose drones due to HT from across the hill. That is just careless map editing. Good riddance with Dark Origin. You cannot humiliate a tyrant so.

Looks like his massive tryharding is really paying off Might be a mentality thing. Last season he was kinda off but this season he was on point. I also like his little celebrations each win
