big cheers to InvisibleMenProduction for the great work on the video! BIG UPDATE: Dandy dropped out. Ultra dropped out. Grimeboss didn't respond. Goku dropped out. As all of these took time to occur I decided to put in Nyoken as the last Terran to move the tournament forward. My apologies to Terrans further down the list. If I do another tournament like this I will probably just have a translator for the Spanish-only speaking players. That being said, the tournament is moving forward! - you MUST play at least 40 games to qualify. - anyone who chooses not to or cannot fulfill these requirements will be replaced with the next player down the rankings of their race. Other thoughts / rules Everyone of all skills is welcome to play. I hope that everyone boots up shieldbattery and has a fun couple of weeks laddering together. I think community ladders, like when BSL comes around, are a great and exciting time for the scene in genera l. On shieldbattery, it will be a more even playing ground than on battle.net. for the face of foreign broodwar to disregard his own tournament rules seems to be counterproductive to the expansion of foreign broodwar in all. promoting a foreign tournament welcome to all skill levels and players, and then selecting one that doesnt qualify just to help build his brand. i dont know some of the terran players who dropped out and ive never heard of exit so nyoken is probably better anyways but for integrity purposes it seems wrong for a foreign broodwar scene that is already hard to survive. in this instance, why would anyone who cannot be top 10 foreign even be given the illusion that they could qualify and play in a tournament against some of the bigger streamers and brands that already exist in foreign broodwar. just a thought | ||

Feels bad for exit that being said. For your other points, first of all the foreign scene is doing just fine, regardless of this one tournament. CPL9 just finished with a record amount of players, bwcl season 58 is in the final sprint, and NSL 6 is just around the corner. There is also BSL 2v2. And finally, you misread what artosis said, "everyone is welcome to play" (the ladder stage) to give SB more activity is not quite the same as "everyone has a chance to qualify". The qualifier is a way to generate some extra activity on SB and so it helps anybody on the platform (whether you even play in ascension or not). Bit like BSL, a lot of people compete even though they have no chance to make it to the main tournament. | ||
