Effort just managed to deflect everything very well where he had failed to do so vs mini. ... But they just couldn't give effort any credit and had to attribute it to rain not trying. This seems to be a consistent theme here, not giving the winner credit. What is your position on the matter? Do you think Rain "wasn't trying"? I never said rain wasn't trying.

Without Effort who does top Zerg fall too? Larva still can't find the champions edge in live matches and Soulkey has kind of teetered off a bit. I think it still has to be Soulkey as the new top Zerg, with a few scrappy second tier Zergs.

How experience beats youngsters. How overrated Rain is, mainly by the casters artosis and tasteless. To me his pvz always look just bad, or to be more accurate it feels lacking something... Praising him in every single matchup, where they forgot he was never going to win ASL if Snow didnt eliminated Flash, just a lucky run. and Effort is just great, so great.

Watching the last couple seasons it seems like each race has a much better bench of great players than I initially thought.

I would've liked to see a Last vs EffOrt rematch on these maps. Would probably be a close series again. As to the third place match, even though there's money on the line, I think players are less die-hard about winning compared to say trying to make the finals, however, you guys are crazy if you think these guys wouldn't want to earn an extra $2000 or more by securing victory. In this series, felt like Rain tried his hardest but EffOrt was a cut above, stopping everything that Rain threw at him. Can't be helped if he got outclassed in this case. He had a close chance in the last game, but EffOrt reinforced well to prevent that fourth from dying. One thing Rain could've done better is split his army better. He would send his whole army to deal with a single hydra at 3 leaving his third exposed etc...

The fact that he lost 0-3 vs EFFORT doest mean shit at this level of play. Rain is probably the most complete and competent toss player in the korean scene. Top tier pvper, best PvTer, above average PvZ... Mini is an outlier in the pvz match up, a mini-bisu, the fact that he was able to beat effort in a close series with smart planning and well executed builds doesnt take away the fact that Rain is exceptional.

I believe Larva is capable of going farther, but history says his ability to advance in tournaments will stay limited. Calm is not the best Zerg in the world. I love his style and have always been a fan. His lurker drop build in ASL7 is, I believe, the most creative play in the tournament. But he is not as solid all around as Killer or Soulkey. Soulkey was in a tough group to break out of and he will return with a vengeance in ASL8. Is here slotted to compete in KSL3? With Effort out of the tournament he will be the most successful Zerg of late in the field.

Soulkey seems to always flake in tournaments. ZERO IS THE NEW KING.
