Who picks first map in dM vs eF?
|
higher divisions always pick
|
Best of luck to all teams! :D
|
When does the higher ranked team need to announce the map though? Would be unfair if they can train one map and then just say it on sunday :D
|
At playing time. Oxide, Roadkil and Eddy are known maps. Magrathea is a neutral 2v2 map basically FightinSpirit/Fortress imprinted. Uzi Sara, Sylphide and Autobahn were seasonal maps, even though new. Seems fair to me.
If you feedback that starting maps give a relevant advantage, we will find a better mode in the next playoffs.

Not that I'm part of the playoffs, and I agree that it's probably too late to really do anything about it now. But I do feel that it's technically not quite fair to be in the dark until playday. I don't really think there's barely any team at all who'd capitalize on it, however you are techincally giving one team a week to spam practice on a map to gain some momentum, while the other team will not be able to really prepare for anything at all. Except just playing games for the sake of playing.
I know I'd certainly push my clan members to practice the map, and would want to know it beforehand, rather than last second.
The better team will likely win regardless, though, since many/most seems to just pop up on playday, hung over as shit and ask; "uuh, there's a cw? What map is it? Is it bo3?"
|
Look at this way, if starting team can choose the 1st map, the loser can choose the second. So just prepare your map in the same way they'll do.

I feel like that's more rationalizing, than an actual argument, though.
Although, I have been thinking that the concept of fairness in this regard might be irrelevant, since it's normal that the highest ranked/seeded players/teams get some sort of advantage. In which case, being able to know the map prior and to prepare for it might just as well be one such advantage.
So I reckon I more or less retract my initial post

I just want to verify few things:
- Psi vs vT is meant to be played on 25th Nov? - Does each pair pick their maps or it has to be one and only 1st map for all the 4x1v1 + 1x2v2?
Thanks

- yes - everyone pick his map
