Effoooooooooooooooort!! <3
Best ASL-finals so far (Though a small overdose of the 2010 OSL storyline, which was basically starting building hype from the moment effOrt won vs Last ) And althought Flash' road to the finals was a little on the downside spectatorwise, and JD getting eliminated again (T_T), this finals delivered, BIG TIME.

The player's interviews also great, with even Flash admitting he showed off a littlebit with the tank-mode push, which instantly brought me back to the infamous quote of "Boxer vs Theboy" incident^^ (Really liked how the writhers used this in the recap of ro4). And effOrt, saying he prepeared only for "3-0" and who does two base defiler when everyting is on the line being down 1-2..? as a Z player I loved it. And ACTUAL tears were shed, effOrt talking about his mom, amazing!

And props to noregret/Rapid. It's not easy to go out there and deliver in a grand final, but I think they pulled through. They are not worse then Tastless's ramblings so ppl should cut them some slack. They are not the first choice but when they come out they do ok. Agreed it is more commentating what they "see" and not so much on specific mindsets, possible openers and potential outcomes, the meta-game and so on, but they did allright and the games themselves were so fast and furious that there was not much time to "settle down" and think what to say imo.

GG's

12h VS 1-1-1 again. I think Effort has squashed this build already. I wonder what variation Flash does

Vultures are ridiculous units. 1 well microed vulture could erase 12 well microed lings. That speed timing was fortunate.

Flash holds this. The tank vessel switch will be crucial. And Flash has always performed impeccably in life threatening situations. Flash got this unless Effort plays perfectly.

This was easily the best ASL finals we've witnessed so far, by a long shot. Shine's bag of tricks couldn't withstand Flash, nor could Hero's straightforward, solid ZvT, but man did Effort deliver beyond expectations. I doubt many predicted this finals would be this good. It's also worth nothing that this is the first ASL finals that wasn't a 3-1 or 3-0.

Interesting how Flash went 6-0 in TvP and 3-4 in TvZ this ASL (not including wildcard matches), ez-mode rolling both Mini and Shuttle while looking vulnerable against Jaedong and Effort. Way too small of a sample size to jump to hasty conclusions (would be better to look at sponmatch stats), but it's nonetheless really cool to see that at least on the big stage, zergs were able to exploit Flash's early-mid game vulnerabilites in TvZ with smart, ballsy play, which I think silences the idea that Flash's TvZ is broken and unbeatable due to 1-1-1 or some other tesagi shenanigans (at least when it matters most: in the finals of the currently most prestigious BW tournament). We should be grateful to both Effort and Flash for such an awesome finals. Even gods bleed.

except for the last game, i thought it was quite bad. Last vs Effort was much more entertaining.

Even if that's the case, it was still better than previous ASL finals. A lot more back and forth, a lot more interesting tactics and strats.

This play by effort is so weird. Speedhydras in ZvT as an intended play and not a reaction. Ive seen this only in Hydra vs. Flash and Zero vs. maybe Flash also in the finals preSC2, but only as a reaction to wraith play scouted late. Effort seems to deliberately be leading this game to his advantage. W.O.W.!

That muta evasion split against cloaked wraiths was 1 minute too late. Effort should have done it after the scv attack disengage

I think Effort's play in this series is best executed and the most innovative I have ever seen. I started watching BW just after Bisu's "revolution", in late 2007. It feels like game 4 and 5 should go down as some of the most impressive games by a zerg player ever.

I'm so happy I got to see this. This was even greater than the clutch zerglings eight years ago.
"To all eSports fans, I want to be remembered as a progamer who can make something out of nothing, and someone who always does his best. I think that is the right way of living, and I'm always doing my best to follow that." - Jaedong. /watch?v=jfghAzJqAp0

The only probable logical reasons for you to be saying that would be that you're either a disappointed Flash fan or you don't play the game.

I'm a huge Flash fan, but this was a fantastic outcome.

This is probably better for literally everyone involved. Effort, other BW players, Afreeca, the BW scene, even Flash himself.
