This feels like Shine's run, but executed by a much higher caliber player. Lots of tricks and mind games. It will be hard for him to use his bag of tricks twice and against Flash. Regardless, Effort played great.

In terms of skillset and mechanics, Effort has been one of top two (or three, when Larva was peaking, but he was a newer face) Zergs since Remastered came out. Obviously from a results perspective, that hasn't been the case except when he 3-1'd Flash last year. But if anyone watches pro streams, the consistent story that every pro says is that no one really ever wants to play a guy like Effort in a series. You see glimpses of it during ASL group draws or when they show the player votes, but all the pros know how good he is, even if he had lots of early tournament exits.

If I was rooting for any other player, I'd wish for the easiest bracket for them to win. But in Effort's case, I wouldn't have had it any other way - Rain, Last, then probably Flash.

Incredible games. I was afraid Last was going to stomp Effort like he did to Jaedong, but lo and behold Effort still had some smooth moves up his sleeve. Definitely the best ZvT in quite a while.

Too bad it was 2-2 and Effort had to bring out this new strat to not risk getting eliminated. Otherwise he could have saved it to Flash.

It's not really new. He does this on stream reasonably often. New to tournament series game though.

Dunno why he committed so hard to all-ins. Aside from G5, those all-ins weren't well thought-out. Game 5 was amazing shit though, so good. In Game 2 I think he had another follow up ready (normal one) but his 4 lings did so much that he decided to pull the trigger instead.

Pretty amazing series in general. 2 players on eye level, although I think Effort is just a bit better than Last atm. I wish he would have done one more standard game. G3 was great!

ZvZ's can be exciting to watch but only sometimes.

PvP are kind of bland.

TvT are straight tedious to watch most of the time.

Absolute epic game 5 am from effort and I think we’ve got the best finals lead up we could have. Last may be more sizzle then fire and I think we saw his weaknesses this series. 1:1:1 is nice but he’s playing too predictable doing the same 1 starport stuff every game.

dope series. effort is nuts. a little worried about this playstyle vs flash's defense though. also not a great look that a top caliber zerg is trying his best to avoid macro games. the control and confidence looked like the effort of old though
