If Action can win a group as stacked as this, Effort is not unwinnable for Rain. I mean, if this game is proving anything it is exactly that - the "on paper" lesser player can win, even dominate the "on paper" better one with preparation and strategy. In KSL, did you expect JD to slap Rain that hard and make him look that helpless vs Z? Or Last to dominate both Soulkey and JD in a way that made that 1-1-2 build look like the ultimate zerg slayer build? I am so glad that current games are unpredictable and this makes ASL and KSL and every other tournament a treat to watch. You have point, but I really think that Effort beating a Protoss is the most secure bet one can make at the moment, even Flash vs anything and/or anyone is not as predictable as Effort beating any protoss easily (would have excluded bisu if he was active)

I give you that but in those "secure bets" is exactly where the fun is hidden. Sure, effort "should" win vs p. But then the said P comes and play his heart out and effort looks like a tier two zerg that is out of place. I am into watching BW for exactly those sensations. Like, Light in last KSL vs JD. Light was the safest bet vs any z yet he lost. I just hope for entertainment purposes Rain vs effort goes all the way, regardless of who wins, I don't care. I am in just for that - to be the spectator of amazing gameplay and decisions and the tremendous skill that all of those players posses. In the end the better prepared player for the BoX will win. This is all, no excuses are given, there has to be a loser. This prediction of outcome based on former performance in competition is totally unreliable and it gets proven again and again to be so yet we still use it It is unreliable because it's a future event it's trying to predict, one that has uncertainty in it but the amount of uncertainty is never clear so the predictions are vastly wrong. But anyway, it's the entertainment value I am after and ASL and KSL surely deliver! Let's all just have fun and enjoy this breathtaking game while it lasts.

Just saw the Action vs Light game, what a smart play hiding that hatch in that spot. The smirk on light's face at the end says it all.

jd's play is so frustrating... any top zerg couldve won in that position

my heart broke in a million pieces for JD

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but JD's economy seemed very weak throughout the game. Letting Flash retake his natural would have put him at a disadvantage.

Jaedong's peak was 9 years ago. As much as we like to pretend otherwise, he has not been the same player since forever. When he wins, it is incredible fun to watch, but his blunders are numerous. With his execution based playstyle, his age is just showing. It is obvious to me that Flash's strategical and tactical genius is less prone to be affected by age (obviously Flash is fast, but speed and precision is more important for Jaedongs playstyle).
Despite making the KSL1 finals, I'd prefer Jaedong would have retired years ago. It is just too painful for me when he loses.

Is the afreeca vod watchable from Europe? It was a pain every time I ever tried watching it.

Wow this group was so fun, every game was super good to watch. Action's strategy was insaaaaanee, also sick holds from Flash in this last game !

Fun group to watch, sad to see Jaedong lose out, but when Action beat Light to make it a ZvZ winners it got me nervous for sure. The muta attack vs Action had me ?????? Funny to see Light's depot placement at the ramps after Flash takes the Dong to the face game 1. Last game was pretty crazy, see lots of people saying Jaedong threw it away but Flash made lots of mistakes that gave Jaedong an advantage too.(getting his vults pinned was a big one) Both sides made missteps but Jaedong's over-commit with mutas and only a 2 base eco wasn't enough to support the massive amount of units needed to counter the follow up after Flash manages to hold. Flash also crucially denies Jaedong's third for a while with the vultures. Jaedong has hydra tech but they are past their prime effectiveness. Dong tries to drone up but Flash pushes before Jaedong's eco can take off and before he can macro up enough to stop him. GG!
