How can I start playing ?
It's very easy!
1. Make your own account with BSL-Tag on EUROPE - [For example BSL-ZZZero, BSL-Bonyth, BSL-Blackman, BSL-Draco etc]
2. Join the discord channel: https://discord.gg/X7S87gR & let me know what is your nickname in the tournament.
3. START PLAYING.

ProLeague -> 32 spots
HasuLeague -> 64 spots
PRO LEAGUE:
Top 24 players from BSL-ladder will advance directly to the ProLeague
4 spots will be to take from weekly Tournaments / Events for top players on ladder stage at current time [for example Top16 from 27.01 will play Tournament for the spot]:
TOP4 from BSL-3 will advance to the BSL-4 ProLeague !
HASU LEAGUE:
TOP 25 - 88 players from BSL-ladder will enter the HasuLeague
Admin of HasuLeague will be [IE]TGN
I'll publish later exact format and maps of PRO&HASULeagues.
Probably korean ProLeague style[groups into DE].

how would win-trading be easy? It's random match making. In theory two people around the same score could start playing at the same time and be matched up reasonably frequently, but that would also require someone to sacrifice their mmr and they wouldn't be matched many times.

i have a high amount of faith people will get creative to cheat and abuse in the ladderphase of this. Past ladder Qualification formats have shown that this happens all the time sadly enough. I don't wanna create anger beforehand but, generally speaking, how good is Blizzards anti-cheat protection on the SC:R servers? Has there been anything heard about 3rd party hacks and such?
Correct me if im wrong, but to my knowledge, there is no real antihack in place on Blizz servers atm?

Jaeyun - I have a plan of making tournament for top16 in BSL ladder each saturday, and making BSL KOTH series in each wednesday/thursday - but I still need some funds to do that all and organize it properly

Personally, I'm not too afraid of cheating. I dare say it'll become evident during the final tournament(s) regardless, so it's not like they'll get away with it. And it's also not like during the TSL where you'd play on iCCup and could choose your opponents.

It's not my intention to make everyone nervous beforehand about the possibilty of cheating. I just wanted to raise awareness for the case.
As ex iccup Admin, i have some knowledge with it and had long talks with Admins who were in charge during TSL 2.
I think it's best to be a bit cautious and have some form of check during ladder stage.
That being said, BSL 4 sounds great and i wish my best to players and Organizers!

With verified starlog.gg profiles it should be super obvious to see wintrading because the match history is visible including game length/build orders.

You make a good point. I reckon it's easy for me to think that "oh well, they'll get caught eventually regardless" seeing as I don't have a spot in the tournament on the line. And I guess the cheating might not be as obvious as I thought at first.
Better to be safe, than sorry =)

We believe that there is a problem with the Blizzard Leaderboard Listing System.
Only the list of accounts that exist in StarLog system will be displayed. (only verified account will be shown there.)
I don't know when the leaderboard listing bug will be fixed.
We will soon add link/button/tab in appropriate place.

If you win - great! You may stand upon those of us not as skilled as you. And we shall gaze upon you in your glory!

Can we register with a non-BSL name if our preferred nametag is too long when "BSL-" is appended to the front? I suppose the only problem is opponents won't necessarily know they are playing someone else who is also in the tournament.

stupid question but is there a limit to the number of account in the ladder?
I m at 2-1 (which isnt much I know) but in my profile it says 0 0 for frontier league even though I did see the MMR go up and down after the games when I played.

I m not entirely sure but at some point I read it first tries to match you on your server and then cross server after some time. But I cant remember whether they simply discussed it as a future improvement or if it is actually in the game.
Though when I play on EU I get more european and on East more Americans/Canadians.

You should make account with BSL- at the begining of the nickname, otherwise it will be hard to find you in the ladder.

easy way to test this out yourself (now that you have a reference point) is to create a new account on korea and q up for games

Well, really I only started playing ONLY Koreans 9/10 games when I hit above 2k mmr on KR server, but yea good idea will do.

Guys it seems when i make an account on EU it doest seem to show in the ladder (even though i see the mmr change after each game).
I deleted some legacy accounts I had but it doesnt seem to do the trick. Should I try on another server? Is there something I m missing? Temporary ladder/bnet issue?

This. Just verify your account/confirm BattleTag on starlog.gg and you'll be able to track MMR there. There are obviously some issues with displaying the MMR ingame, but you are matched vs. equally good opponents and both gain and lose MMR, so it isn't really that big of a deal.

Well it'll complicate things if you allow multi-server, as you can create multiple accounts with the exact same name, pushing some people out of the bracket.

I think thatd be fairly easy to spot. I have bsl-dragon on europe and west but im laddering with my west account. I can delete the europe one if thats necessary. ZZZero should I delete the europe one or its fine?

It's not obvious and what if people create two different BSL- names on different servers? How would you remove the duplicate if you didn't know. We should allow for the maximum amount of people who qualify in the top 88 to play. Allowing for multiple servers makes this challenging if not impossible (at a 100% certainty). It's ZZZero's call since he's organizing but that's my opinion.

It's not really 'multi-server' that is allowed, just that you can make your one account on any chosen server. That makes no real difference. I guess someone (dragon) made one account on europe which he played 9 games on before he started playing with his main account (west), but that's totally insignificant.
I'm not zzzero so you shouldn't take my words for gospel regarding the rules of this, but it's not really complicated. I'd argue that it should not be allowed to ladder on several accounts - not because of the danger of pushing some people out of the bracket (that problem is easily stopped by just removing all the lower ranked accounts) but because it can allow people to 'push their peak' - if you hit peak mmr with one account, then laddering is gonna be risky with it, because you might drop down. having another account would allow you to try to climb past that score with that account with no risk.
So far though, no players have been trying to game the system like this, so it's not really an issue, but I guess it might be good to address it sooner rather than later.

It's mentioned in the OP that it must be made on Europe. However, ZZZero states later in the thread that there shouldn't be a problem if you can't make it on Europe and play on some other server instead. I.e. you should make it on Europe, but it's okay if it's problematic and you need to use a different server.
At least that's how I understand the posts.

At first I though that anyone should make account on europe becouse it will be easier to menage. But the starlog gives us the ability to search also for global players, so it does not make a big difference.

If there is some issue preventing you from making it on Europe, you can make it on another server. However as far as laddering goes, I don't think it should affect anything in terms of who you will meet on ladder or what your latency will be.
