I'm so disappointed in myself for even suggesting that we switch to 1.18. I hope I didn't misguide anyone. I logged in and made sure team melee worked and hosting worked and figured we were good to go. Now after watching streams and talking to people it seems there are some very important issues that make hosting tournaments on 1.18 fucking retarded. Some are QoL changes, and some are a lot more troubling.

• Missing whisper & friendslist functions
  
• Private games sometimes cannot be found at all or tell the user the password is wrong when it isn't
  
• Games are not played on the same latency players are used to on ICCup / Fish.
  
• 1.18 runs less smoothly than 1.16.1 (mouse lag, input lag)
  
• Players will all have to re-register on a new server and hope their names aren't taken. If it is, confusion ensues.
  
• Something that I failed to see when testing team melee is YOU GET FUCKING RANDOM RACES IF YOU DONT HAVE FULL PLAYER SLOTS. You can't select your race for all 4 slots, so you will get drones/probes if you select Terran. This is against the league rules for obvious reasons (extractors for 50 minerals, expansion for 300 minerals, pylons for supply).
  

So yeah, fuck 1.18.

This is me and another player who both picked Zerg in team melee, and it gave us two SCVs. Team melee completely fucked up on 1.18. The coolest and most played game mode ever. I hope Blizzard didn't fuck up Slaughter, Capture the Flag, and Greed either. But yeah with this development and team melee being part of the league, we aren't going to touch 1.18.
