We have B- players and D- players. And it's not like it's distributed over teams, it's more like there are really stacked teams and teams comprised of completely new players. But let's say that even if one team did have a good player. I would not be guaranteed to play against the best player because the line-ups are secret. There's no "ace match". It's a little different from how the ASL team league is set up because of those two things. That's nice for you. Not all teams have that big of a range (like ours for instance). The only thing you could do to change that is to have a draft at the beginning of the season. I think it's worked alright until now. Yeah I've lost every single game, but I've enjoyed playing and that's the point. I think he meant the league overall has B- and D- players, not our team specifically, which is a mix of D- to C-. Although there are some stacked teams that are undefeated and some teams that don't take BW as seriously as some people do, I would like to think that this is still a for fun tournament for ROOKIES. As long as people are enjoying themselves, I don't think the skill difference is really an issue. Our team came with an expectation to get stomped every match, but we managed to pull some close matches against similar skilled teams, and obviously got 0-5 against stronger teams. Overall, we are still having fun and are enjoying ourselves in team melee and bgh, which are nice additions to this league.

Unfortunate is my departure from something I worked quite hard on, but there is nothing more I want than to see RTL conclude at week 12 with everyone looking back and feeling like time was well spent being in this league. I have never understood the pressure and work this commitment took until I put myself into the position head first. I spend several hours every week watching replays, updating the wiki, and talking to players. I realize that every decision I make has close to 50 eyes watching me. From the players I let in, to the map pool, to more difficult situations like disconnects. And no matter what I do, I cannot please everyone. Going forward, I have selected someone whom I think can admin this tournament better than anyone on Teamliquid. They do not have a lot of experience under their belt but they possess very strong qualities that I think qualifies them. This person is a hard worker, sympathetic and understanding, level-headed, and works well under pressure. It is with great reassurance that I say this league is in the best hands. Their word will be final and I hope any changes they make to this league will be welcomed with open arms. Thank you everyone for your time and participation. I cannot express how much fun I had organizing this and watching the casts. And now, I present to you, the new leadership for Rookie Team League! + Show Spoiler + SCC-Faustina

I think a draft makes sense (team captains should be the strongest players). It's fine if teams have weaker players; but some teams are crazy good and some feel like walkovers. New players to the league should be on a waiver system, where team captains bid on a FAAB budget. Roster size should be capped, and team captains should be free to drop any players who don't show up. Dropped players get dropped to waivers, but if they are unclaimed they become free agents. Too complicated?

It was a great honor and privilege to host this tournament and despite my inexperience, it was one of the most enjoyable and enriching experiences I have obtained through Brood War. We have had great attendance. When I first erected RTL many people were suspicious that even half the teams would show up. And here we are, with 11 active teams of the original 12. However, despite that, the league did not run as smoothly as planned. Mistakes were made, and although we've made it to page 28 on this beautiful thread, almost every single page has a complaint. It has been my mission statement and hope that every player in this league has had fun, but no longer can my incompetence as an admin to make decisions be allowed going further. This is Rookie League, not Super Serious Ultra Balanced Tryna Make Guap League. Trying to balance teams is a fruitless effort anyway, no matter what, someone will walk away unhappy. In all fairness, any team can recruit anyone at this point, so there's that avenue to pursue.
