That was actually a really sick series.

Flash outplayed Jaedong in the games he won, but Jaedong made damn sure it was close!

It's in the OP, but here it is too. http://afreeca.tv/ASL2ENG2
This is an official stream that both FlashFTW and I are part of.

I can't have my stream on the right side of TL because Afreeca.TV api isn't supported. The only way to make people aware of my stream is word of mouth. I've casted every ASL1 and 2 minus Christmas games, VANT Starleague, KSL, KCM Legend Matches, GOMTV Classic Season 4. multiples SSLs and SRTs just to name a few events. FlashFTW has helped cast many korean and foreign events too. That is why I ask that everyone rally behind our stream and show support for it.

Y'all do a really good job casting, I prefer y'all to Tastosis because they're mostly just joking around and aren't exactly hip to the metagame. But when I want to show games to my friends, I show them Tastosis' casts (sorry).
Get some bases, smash some faces.

Yeah, I mean I'm trying to analyze what happened. And I say this with full caveat that I come from SC2. But looking back at the individual games, Flash won simply on errors by Jaedong while holding on to norm TvZ builds and taking full advantage of Terran's strengths. In his two loses, Flash was obviously outplayed and outstrategized by insane almost-perfect game in game 1 and a wonky crazy strategy in game 4. I now understand why bw fans go crazy over these players. Sad that they cant carry it over to SC2.

Anyway, are there any scheduled or planned future events for famous players like this one? I think this event is a good indicator for corporations that there is business to be made for bw. Ahem, Samsung? LG? CJ Entus? Do it!
woah that's a vast over-simplification of things you've got there. Anyone can follow the +1 5 Rax build order but only Flash can control MnM & macro at the same time to such a degree where Zerg is absolutely scared to play standard against him. Sadly the obs stream can't show what really goes through the pros' motions so I suggest watching pro streams to know how hard it is. Flash is probably the apex of execution in TvZ. His "bread and butter" game as you said is actually light years ahead of any other Terran.

This. I want to encourage first time watchers to post opinions, and have discussions about the game here on TL.
But yeah, resist the temptation to either downplay Flash's play, attribute wins to "massing m&m", or think that terran is just imba. I know that watching Flash play kind of really gives that impression, but there is so much more to it than that that its hard to figure out where to begin. The easiest way to put it is that countless other really really talented and hardworking terran professional players have graced the BW scene and they simply cannot do what Flash does. It really sometimes feels like u are watching a completely different race altogether.

I don't think just watching people play can really do it justice either. You have to actually go play BW against bad players online to realize how godlike players like Flash and Jaedong are. It's one thing to theorize about which race is strongest if played perfectly, but try controlling a single group of MM against lurkers without letting your macro falter before acting like anyone, even the best pros, can maintain perfection every game. Flash isn't exceptional only because of his mechanics and control, but also his intuitive sense of predicting what his opponent will do, and making the best decisions even under heavy pressure. People who cry "terran imba" either don't realize that or are deliberately ignoring it.

OMG, i m watching right now, not reading the comments.
I was moved watching Flash in the interview. He was moved, almost cried.
Jaedong was mostly excited.
In PvZ the zerg can make the situation spire out of control but protoss can adept to the situation.

They're probably for the newer crowd and getting people from SC2 to BW so yeah I could see why you'd recommend them for that. To each their own though.

Tbh it helps that they are casting from studio so you can listen to stuff like pre-game music and crowd enthusiasm during game, not to mention Terran soundtrack bass line as the game starts :D

I'm thinking of the scan Flash did on JD's hydras as he saw them move out before the hydra ling push.
JD just three hatch lurker'd the game before, had a similar if not exactly the same set up for this game. The timing of moving out those 3-4 hydras that Flash saw, was it within reason to be read as JD just going for a lurker contain/push?
Or did Flash misread the timing and what he needed to defend? It's a odd push so no matter how Godly he is, playing that is gonna be difficult.

BTW next season Hydras will be the meta of very Zerg match up and JD will win!

I meant more credit than they are giving him. I didn't say either one deserves more credit, but credit should be given to both players obviously.

Honestly, both players should be given a lot more credit. Jaedong has only been playing for so long yet he went 3-2 with Flash, someone who is dominating the current scene. Flash should be given credit for how strong he currently is and how he's managed to maintain it considering the new streaming environment etc...

We discussed this in this thread before. Some people claimed that he also scanned that the gas at the nat wasn't taken in which case he missread the situation and thought it would be lurkers but it should have been clear that it wouldn't be lurkers on just one gas. He moved out to find the lurker eggs, which also supports this argument.

And no, Hydras will not be the meta in ZvT because they suck vs bio big time.

What a treat this series was. It's been ages since I've watched any SC (bw or 2) and this series reminds me of how much I loved bw. I remember watching proleague into the middle of the night while working on grad school projects back in 2008/9/10... Ah what good times. To have JD vs flash in bw makes me so happy.

Here's hoping we get to see these two sharpen their skills and meet in many more bo5s. While we're at it, let's hope proleague gets resurrected and the bw scene recovers to the glory days.

Great semifinal. I did at some point start to get annoyed at the commentators for constantly repeating how great the matchup was, how godlike the players are and how big of a deal everything they did was. I don't want to take anything away from the games, but there's only so much I (non-american) of this hypetalk I can endure.

Choose either Low Quality or Mobile Quality from that little cog thingie at the lower right of the video window?

I've had to do that once or twice, does seem to help... though Mobile Quality completely sucks on a laptop or desktop screen. Low is fine, though.

Maybe they won't be in the ZvT meta overall, but you could see the occasional 'Jaedong Fake Lurker Rush That Is Actually Hydras' be attempted on occasion. 'Cuz it's just so damn effin' cool.

Nope, the app doesn't have any cog. The laptop player has a cog, but it doesn't let me change any settings.

My bad, I was referring to the live casts, which do indeed allow you to select quality level.

You're obviously looking at the VODs, which have had some problems of late. I think it was mentioned that the VODs for the Flash vs Jaedong series were going to be re-done and re-uploaded soon, if that's the specific issue you're encountering.
