Wooooooo! Good games, even if they didn't go as late as I would have liked. ZvT Hydra busts is always a treat, and JD was on point Game 1.

His new TvP variation is almost near perfection too, he's been using more vults and less tanks in most his games and it's been slaughtering the usual P mid to late game as well. I'm concerned Ps will start to act like Zs and go in cheese or go in early game survival mode once FLash tweaks it to perfection as well. I think the hate comes from him making the competition less exciting, if anything, people should encourage everybody else to try and get better to keep up (if that's even possible) Agree. I mean, Larva was literally ranting that 'Flash is the Devil!' during his 16 game loss streak to him the other night. And Larva doesn't strike me as a natural hater. 😮 But for those who are, there's nothing like overwhelming excellence to bring out the worst in those ppl, the ppl who will try to talk you down exactly BECAUSE you're good. Says more about the haters than the object of their hate, and always will.

Flash is still more dominant I'll give you that but 'way better' is just.... -_- Yes way better (mechanics-wise).. Game 1 JD caught Flash off-guard with a lurker drop and did massive damage, it was an uphill battle for Flash after that. Like i said all the games JD won he did something non standard, which i dont have an issue with (you have to play to your strengths) but it also showed that he wasnt confident in winning a straight up game w/ just his mechanics (which was made made apparent whenever they played a somewhat normal game). That being said, given more time to practice I'm sure JD could keep up with Flash mechanically. On a side note, I think JD went lurkers in the first few maps so Flash wouldn't 5 rax against his 3 hatch muta, which unfortunately didnt happen in g5.

I know Flash already said he read Lurkers in Game 4, but, among other things, I want to confirm if he didn't even need to read it.

Post-kespa no other player had achieved that kind of positive result from such a short period of return, not even God himself who got knocked outthe Ro8/Ro16(?) in the previous tourney, JD can only get better from here.

Yeah that's what I find most impressive. He hasn't been back anywhere near as long as the others and already reached the semi finals and a close series. I read a lot of people (me included, big JD fanboy!) who thought Flash would 3-0 easy. Instead he surprised by playing amazing in game 1. Game 2 was unfortunate, I wish he hadn't done that, but oh well it's easy to say that after the fact. I really think he should have avoided Mutalisks all together or only done it in one game, just going by his stream games. I really really hope that they can get a rematch within the next 6 months as I think Jaedong will have a bit better zvt and be able to actually get a 3rd when going mutalisks ![]() On January 18 2017 13:27 Terrorbladder wrote: JD was all over Flash in ONE game. Anyone can follow the +1 5 Rax build order but only Flash can control MnM & macro at the same time to such a degree where Zerg is absolutely scared to play standard against him. Sadly the obs stream can't show what really goes through the pros' motions so I suggest watching pro streams to know how hard it is. Flash is probably the apex of execution in TvZ. His "bread and butter" game as you said is actually light years ahead of any other Terran. This. I want to encourage first time watchers to post opinions, and have discussions about the game here on TL. But yeah, resist the temptation to either downplay Flash's play, attribute wins to "massing m&m", or think that terran is just imba. I know that watching Flash play kind of really gives that impression, but there is so much more to it than that that its hard to figure out where to begin. The easiest way to put it is that countless other really really talented and hardworking terran professional players have graced the BW scene and they simply cannot do what Flash does. It really sometimes feels like u are watching a completely different race altogether.

El Clasico Flash vs Jaedong. Always delivers. Sadly Jaedong lost ![]() I guess zergs need to wait next Savior who need to invent something standard opening against Flash's 5 rax. Seems like nobody can't stand it.

The first game had impeccable scourge positioning but after failing to detect the lurker drops and Flash being forced on one base/one scanner for a while, Flash didn't really have a single thing he could do besides spam dropships. With Jaedong being on so many bases and Flash having zero map presence, it was the only way Jaedong was going to lose that game.

Jaedong also did 3 Hatch before Pool in game 1, which very few people are mentioning. That's not game breaking but it's not like Zerg can do that most games. Jaedong was awesome at being prepared for Flash's Dropship heavy response in game 1 though.
