Imagine JD's genius with enough practice to get to Effort's level.
I think ASL3 will actually even out the gap between JD and Flash where you cannot tell the clear favorite.
assuming ASL3 starts in march or something, from the buzz inside the community it seems more like mid feb with qualifiers on the 29th of this month.

I would say that most JD fans are not sad about the results. It was expected that Flash would roflstomp, but he did not.
It sounds silly, but this series just told us that FvJ is back alive and Jaedong did extremely well. This is much more valuable than a Jaedong win.

Ah, good old Flash macro.. Here we see JD microing hard mutalisks to try and kill 8-9 marines and 2 medics. Ah, he has them surrounded but wait, just 3 mutas and couple of lings remain. Oh, a control group of +1 stimmed ranged marines, 3 medics, a tank and a sci vessel come to wipe them out and then kill 4 lurkers just because why not? A second control group is about to pop and join the fray. This series was fun to watch, BW is amazing and refreshing. I hope Flash vs Sea goes all the way and makes a decent final.

And no Jaedong's micro was not good enough, you can't afford a single mistake or indecisiveness. Watch Hero vs Last in the group stages on how to play as Zerg vs 5 rax +1. You compare a game played on circuit breakers when hero abused the bridge to stop 5rax to eye of the storm which is an open map.... Nowadays you almost cannot hold a third where you cannot block a ramp with one lurker egg. I think the maps are just bad for ZvT this tournament. I would have preferred FS over CB just because of the wider ramp. FS is at least less volatile for Zerg when getting the third up. Except on FS ther winrate for Terrans has gotten ridiculous. At least on CB terrans can't take a 3rd gas base safely.
On that note, do you guys like how Flash never took an official third base in any of his games. He attempted in game 1, but otherwise it's just two base play that lead to his success.

ok, now after all the dust of the battle settled, I should say that this has been a final worthy series except game 5. It was really painful to watch JD trying to set Flash back to keep his 3d. It is always painful to watch such muta openings and seeing how good terran dismantles them. Zerg should show some godly muta micro and be very lucky. I am slightly disappointed JD didn't try anything cheesy in last game like Sea against Best, who outplayed Sea in straight up games. JD showed too much respect for Flash I guess and didn't try anything fishy. Oh, well. I am just happy to have witnessed this wonderful match even though the result is salty.

Game 1 he tried to but already was way too far behind. game 2 was the lurker allin that led to flash's counter attack that ended the game. game 3 was a low eco, flash trying to kill JD's 3rd while JD countered and he lost a ton of SCVs so impossible to get a third. Game 4 was the hydra bust. Game 5 he was going to start gearing up for it but ultimately it was too little too late for JD anyways.

It's a very positive score for JD, he was so close to win the series, like game 3 JD sneaks a 3ling and medic survives with 4hp (killing medic vs 2rax is a great damage), these lurkers in game 5 were about to morf and block the ramp and 3rd would be saved, also the dropship in the game 5 arrived just in time while the army was morfing

Cold blooded Flash in the end, Not even taking a third, just going for the kill. God i missed this games.

Guys as a community, do you think we have the power to encourage corporate sponsors?

Also JD's muta micro was on point. He didnt lose any game because of muta micro... Yeah, I mean I'm trying to analyze what happened. And I say this with full caveat that I come from SC2. But looking back at the individual games, Flash won simply on errors by Jaedong while holding on to norm TvZ builds and taking full advantage of Terran's strengths. In his two loses, Flash was obviously outplayed and outstrategized by insane almost-perfect game in game 1 and a wonky crazy strategy in game 4. I now understand why bw fans go crazy over these players. Sad that they cant carry it over to SC2. Anyway, are there any scheduled or planned future events for famous players like this one? I think this event is a good indicator for corporations that there is business to be made for bw. Ahem, Samsung? LG? CJ Entus? Do it! woah that's a vast over-simplification of things you've got there. Anyone can follow the +1 5 Rax build order but only Flash can control MnM & macro at the same time to such a degree where Zerg is absolutely scared to play standard against him. Sadly the obs stream can't show what really goes through the pros' motions so I suggest watching pro streams to know how hard it is. Flash is probably the apex of execution in TvZ. His "bread and butter" game as you said is actually light years ahead of any other Terran.
