This edition of the tour will be a little different from the past tours. Main difference here being that the primary purpose of this tour is for coaches to be able to assess players when considering team selection to help promote a league with a more even initial skill distribution.
CPL Players are REQUIRED to participate. If you absolutely cannot play, you must inform me. Failure to do so will disqualify you from CPL.
Max Rank of C- is allowed. In case of seemingly strong players without ladder results they will be evaluated by a committee consisting of myself, and several others (TBA). It's subjective, but that's the best we can do
It hasn't been an issue in the past but I want to be abundantly clear. If you have been C/B/A++ at any point, do NOT post your max rank as D+ xxxx pts. This applies to any account. If you've been 5000 pts on one account, but only 2700 on another your max rank must be posted as 5000.
Failure to read and follow this properly will result in tournament inelgibility

Yea, they are on the same day. Of course, Ro8 technically starts after the Ro16, and the semi's after the round of 8, but these are grouped on the same day so that we can have the bulk of the games played for coaches to have observed and be able to start drafting teams.

Moreover, the poll between C-/C max rank for CPL is fairly close at the moment, so depending on numbers and popular vote it's very possible that C rank max may be allowed in CPL.

Race picker = player who plays a different race in at least one MU, usually to avoid the mirror. I.e. a race picker would be a person who plays ZvT, ZvP and TvZ. I've seen the rare person that does PvT, TvZ, and ZvP as well. Both would be considered race pickers.
Match up player I don't think is an actual term people use.

Initially I signed up for this tournament (and the league) because I was very interested in Brood War and wanted to try it out. Unfortunately, as much as I want to like the game, I simply can't enjoy it much. So I want to retire from both the tournament and league, if possible.
I'll participate if absolutely necessary though (as in, there is no replacement for me).

Player to player, I would encourage you to try the league out since you'll get some quality coaching and get past some of the challenges of being a new BW player, really giving the game the chance it deserves. I also say this because I know of nobody that has taken the time to get to C- or better and doesn't end up really, really enjoying BW.

Yeah, sorry I don't want to play right now. Total War Arena is coming back on Sunday so that's even less of a reason now. I lost most if not all of my interest to play BW, you can remove me.

RO16 starts Dec 11th as the signup number was large enough to necessitate 2 rounds of groups. If you advanced first from your group you don't play until Dec 11th.
DRIT/2nd Group stage start at the same time, but that's okay because they involve different sets of players.

I second that! It was a great idea to stop the game at times to elaborate on strategy. Also, there were some nice building placement/micro tips scattered throughout the cast.

All I can say is Monday for my new adapter can't get here soon enough, and HUGE thanks for being such a manner, awesome dude about all this. If you would still like to play a Bo3 for fun/games to be casted sometime after Monday when new adapter is here I'd be happy to accomadate

It would be embarrassing if you crushed me later when you get that adapter . Though it doesn't matter since floladriblere would crush us both xD. flo's terran is so good now, much better than his protoss before.

I practiced with a race wars before my ro8 match where i got my ass kicked by ty2 and some other dude who went mass corsairs. Also shoutout to jealous offering to help me practice but i lost track of what the fuck I was doing.
also my biggest shoutout is to ninazerg cuz without her this wouldnt be possible. and now i can finally sleep.
Really busy this week and next week, scheduled 50+ hours at work + 15-20 hrs training on the bike, so casting will be a bit limited. If anyone wants to help cast some of Ro8 CPL/Ro4 DRIT Semi-Finals your welcome to help, otherwise I'm going to try and cast sometime on Saturday.
I want to live cast finals, so for the winners Xloctis/Snowfruit and awerti/Vitlich; please let me know if you're not going to be playing at scheduled time so I can try and be there.
@SCC-Faust there has been delays regarding DNH's schedule. Last correspondence points to us playing either Friday (tomorrow) or Saturday (the next day). After that we'll let you know. Sorry for delays.
Seeing as L_Master has been MIA, I sent him an offer to take over running/casting this league until he has more time. I am going on vacation tomorrow but I will be back on Tuesday 1/10 so we'll see how that works out. If he's not back by then, I'll try to take on more responsibility in seeing this to completion.

Am back now with no issues. Work decided to hit me with a fantastic 2 weeks of 60+ hour weeks in my last two weeks, courtesy of losing 6 people in November...but now I'm all moved in at my new place and just waiting for classes to start.
More updates to follow shortly, and I can address any questions that still need to be figured out.

It's scheduled for this Sunday (finals), but if whoever is playing wants to PP for casting reasons if Jealous or someone else can't cast on Sunday that's fine.
As for casting, I'm out of the picture for a little bit till I get to know roommates and how sound carries in this place. I cast pretty animated and don't want to drive my neighbors insane if the walls are super thing or something. That and I don't have my mic with me yet.
I am willing to cast with or without my partner in crime. Send reps that are yet to be casted, with proper notation (DRIT Ro8 XvY, or CPL Ro4 ZvN, etc.). That way I can keep track of it and cast them in order.

I realized that the Ro8 for DRIT had not yet been cast - I only have one set of Ro8 replays, but I have all of the Ro4 and Finals replays.

APM is not a good indication of skill imo. Two of the players in CPL that performed really well were around 120 or under, while many people others who were eliminated were 180+.

Yes they are crucial for setting/resetting rallies, extremely convenient for late-game macro, and also very important when dealing with a player who is doing worker harass, which can happen in every match up. Long story short:
Hover your screen/move the camera (however you want to think of it) over the location you want to "lock" Hold Shift + F# (2, 3, or 4)
For rallying-rerallying, this is what your actions could look like:
Screen location, Shift + F2, Screen location, Shift + F3, F2, select Gateway, F3, right click, F2, select Gateway, F3, right click, etc.
For saving workers from harass, after the first wave of harass you can premeditate saving them in future instances like so:
Screen location over main Nexus, Shift + F2, Screen location over natural Nexus, Shift + F3. You're being Vulture dropped! F2, select 12 Probes, F3, right click a mineral, F2, select 12 Probes, F3, right click a mineral, etc.

This is a crucial skill, like hotkeying 1a2a3a etc.! At first it does not come naturally, just like hotkeys probably didn't at first. But if you do it every game for every rally, it will become easier.

About my PvP, you said that I cut probes too much. I don't do it intentionally, I'm just bad at making them. And I got supply blocked at 17 twice simply because I was nervous and forgot the pylon.
I also thought Vitlich would be a no show, he was slow at getting back to me, so I was preparing builds for finals vs Xloctis already. I did practice PvP on any of the semifinals maps. And I have only myself to blame
I was trying out a new build, 3 gate robo, I decided it could be my new standard PvP build. I only do 1 macro build per match-up for now. Still not sure how I feel about this BO. I die against zealot aggression easily because of bad micro. And it is hard to punish opponents who go for nexus before me.
Game order was wrong as well, but it does not matter anyway. It was: Circuit Breakers 0:1. I went for 8 gates off 2 bases here because I did not know if I was ahead or behind, so I decided to go all-in with goons. It's my panic strategy in PvP Destination - 0:2. I went for a proxy 9/9 here to equal the score, failed badly hehe. Overwatch - 1:2 Queensbridge 1:3

This is the safest opening that exists You should not outright die to anything in PvP with this opening. However, you will struggle vs. early Zeal (as you said) and you may be economically disadvantaged vs. Nexus-first (as you said). That is the nature of this build, and of Brood War: there is no 1 ultimate build.
