Also on a side note concerning this C rank discussion. I lose quite a lot to D/D+ and even C- players with average records like 21-18 D+ or 50-72 C-.
Maybe I am just bad at this game. That is probably the case but I don't see a big difference between C-/C and D+ level on ICCup now. It all depends who that C-/C is playing etc. I've seen lots of accounts where the guy is C- but he has played a lot of very good players or a bunch of C+ guys over and over and then you find a C player (like me) who plays whoever joins my game so my matchlist is mixed with me playing against C-/C and alot of D/D+ players and a B- mixed in here and there.
I don't think ones 'rank' really determines their skill. Just reaching a rank is one thing. Constantly staying at the rank over a bunch of games is another. If your playing on ICCup MOTW and you've reached your peak skill level and are losing more then your winning to people of your same rank you would still stay at that same rank otherwise you would slowly move up if you mass game.
Also, with this ICCup change that a C+ can play a D-/D and get 75 points or something similar (more with MOTW) then it makes getting a higher rank easier if someone abuses that.
This is just my opinion.

I don't disagree.
The rank is "Yellow" and "Red" there is no such thing as + or - anymore with the new system.
+ Show Spoiler [In my experience at D+] +It's also important to note that regardless what the cap is, the skill difference will be massive. It's very difficult (former ranks) for a D rank to beat a D+. If you had a 50% winrate at D+ going up against 50% winrate D rank on the old system, you knew there was almost no chance of losing.

Even though i reached a personal goal of C last season on one of my my accounts (50-45 stats), I was playing a long series vs one opponent on a map particularly good for PvT (10-15 on Jade ftw). Also, my main account is barely breaking C- with pretty terrible stats this season.

I feel like I'm being obnoxiously contrary, but don't quite understand that.
Let me preface by saying I do agree if you're going to make a league with an attempt at a skill cap, and are using ICC ranks, you should set a hard cap without exceptions. It's the only way to be objective about it OR just state that you're doing a league primarily for D- to C-, but will make exceptions for well known players that may be close to that skill range.
I truly don't understand the bolded part though. Why would I, or any other D ranker, not want to play in this?

I didn't phrase that really well, i intended to say that: I think a solid D rank player, that's a player who actively plays ladder and still hover's around the D icon has no valid chance to beat a player that good, the same is true for solid D+ ranks. That, in my opinion, beats the idea of the league, which is to give lower rank player a competetive environment where they have a decent shot at winning. That's why im opposed to it.

I dont know why AoT didnt fix this, but my Name is chrisolo (ICC: BaD]Seed) and I will be playing Random (if its allowed, but it wasnt stated that it wasnt. In case it isn't allowed, I will be playing Protoss)

Just to throw my opinion in there; I haven't played actively in months and I really have no idea as to my skill level. If it turns out I'm too good I'll be happy to resign from playing. If people think I'm likely too good/there's a lot of opposition to me playing I'm fine with not playing as well.
