ICCUP Channel name for this tournament is: BWAPI
Tour starts 24 October on 12:10 CEST. Register and check in on defiler.ru before this time
The MicroTournament10.6h map can be downloaded here
Hello everyone,
After some talk with other bot developers, I found out that there is enough interest for creating a bot for micro tournaments. Like the BWAPI mini tour, human players of all ranks are allowed to participate.
Making a bot that only focuses on micro was something that was part of the first StarCraft AI competition, but was dropped due to the low number of entries.
Tournament information:
In this tournament, both human players and bots are allowed to sign on. There are three options in this tournament for both humans and bots to play this map (in all 3, the player with 150 points wins):
- Both players select random level.
- To accommodate for bots that only play one race, there is a possibility of selecting duel race-war as an option.
- If both players want to play the same race in duel war, they instead have to select one of the mirror matchup of their race.(selecting the same race in race-war doesn't work). The level numbers can be found in the second post (below this one).
To ensure that the tournament end before the Legacy cup, the format is going to be a Ro32 double elimination with a Bo1 winners and losers bracket. The grand finals is a Bo3 with a 1 point winner bracket advantage
Because some bot developers cannot be available at the tournament, I am going to operate a maximum of three bots alongside my own bot. This service is first come, first served for all bot developers.
Registering:
Human players: sign up on defiler.ru.
Bots: sign up on defiler.ru if you want to operate your own bot.
Otherwise send your DLL or Java to me and I will register you there automatically.
Prize money:
I currently have a paysafe card of €10.00 and a paysafe card of €8.65 available for the first place and second place respectively. Both bot developers and human players are eligible for this prize money.
Keep in mind that a paysafe card isn't accepted everywhere. You can ofc gift your paysafe card to someone who can use it. Or I can use a paysafe to paypal service (takes a cut though).
Livestream/casting
Because the replays from the MicroTournament don't seen to work, I encourage participant to stream their games if they can. If you do, don't forget to save the broadcast to "Past Broadcast" (or however it is called on your streaming service).
Other information:
- Bot developers are allowed to let someone other than their-self or me operate their bot. As long as that person is available at 12:10 CEST and can stay for all games that the bot has to play. If the operator has to leave, all further games that the bot has to play are automatically forfeit.
- Bot developers are eligible for prize money if their bot wins. Even if they are not operating their own bot.
- Bot operator should not use Anti-hack as it conflicts with the BWAPI. Human players should have AH on the whole tournament, unless they are playing against a bot. Against a bot they can turn AH off and use LatencyChanger for LAN latency.
- BWAPI bots should have the "complete map information" flag set to disabled (by default it is). They are allowed to put the "user input" flag to true for chat purposes and level/race selection only.
- In order to speed up the tournament: In case you are up against a bot that I operate, but you can't play yet because I am operating another bot at the time, you are allowed to play ahead against the opponent that you will face if you would win against the bot you are up against.
