On that note, I need some TvT of the sexy variety.

Running a little late are they? That's good for me. Looks like I haven't missed anything.

Game 1, Fighting spirit. Piano Top left, Sharp bottom left. 11rax/11gas for boths players. Piano scouts correctly 1st time, sharp scouts on 2nd try.

Japan11286 Posts
Both players on 2 bases. Still don't know who's who.
Vulture drop on Sharp's base then goes away quickly.
|
Jinmook is Jin control
edit: Piano is yellow if anyone isn't sure.

Piano taking third at 12 o'clock
|
Japan11286 Posts
3 dropships going to Sharp's main with a wraith. Sharp getting wraiths of his own. Sharp deflects Piano's drop.
Piano moves his line forward.
Piano relocates to at the top of center expo as Sharp relocates to the said expo.
Both players have setup lines that divide the map. Aggressive macro by Piano at the top right.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Sharp maynards scvs at his newly built expos at the bottom right.
Piano with lots of wraiths wreaking havoc at Sharp's lines. Piano attacks at the left side. Wraiths going in. Sharp is late to react. Piano wraisu finally back off after 1 casualty.
Sharp building expo at 9 but outer edges of the cliff are within Piano's range.
|
Sharp putting down the starports now. Both players transiting into mass Wraith with a split map.
But Piano is attacking before Sharps Wraith production is on par with his is going to lead to Sharp losing the 9 O’clock and having a one base lead economically.
edit: I guess its a 2 base lead since if the bases are split and one player takes the others base then he has two bases more than the other guy. If you see what I mean.

Japan11286 Posts
Piano's mass wraiths attack 9. Siege tanks pound it, lift into wraith missiles. Sharps gearing into mass wraiths of his own from 5.
Sharp attacks with mass wraith at the left, goes back before doing too much damage.
Both players at 0-2 upgrades for ground. Sharp at 1-1 for air.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Mass wraisu are the order of the day. 1-2 for both players, air.
|
Does Sharp have the base in the middle or just units there?
|
Huge Wraith battle Piano's coming out on top.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Only units. He can't setup a base there.
As I was typing, huge wraith battle. Piano just outright winning lol. So many wraiths.
|
The extra wraiths could make all the difference he has the mobility to stirke where he wants before Sharp can produce enough Wraiths to defend.
He's used them to take control of Sharps starports and that will game. Sharp can't get any Wraiths out. They just die to Piano's wraith amarda.

2 pronged attack from Piano on both sides of the map. SCV attack at the left, Wraiths at the right LOL
Wraiths reach the starports at 5. Sharp has nothing anyway. GG
1-0 Piano.

I’m not sure the SCV's was an attack I think PianO was just throwing them away to free up supply. Piano's Wraith’s taking control of Sharps Wraith production decided the game though. I'm not by anyone’s standards a TvT expert so feel free to question anything I say or assumptions I make.
It’s striking how quickly TvT can go from tense roughly equal map split to just been over because one guy made a bad attack. That's why we get so many games where neither guy wants to attack and it stays static for ages.
|
They paused the game and one of the players typed 'chamsiman', which means something like 'in a moment' then he typed 'chisonghamnida' which means 'sorry'.
I don't think he explained why he wanted the pause though.
edit: google says chamsiman means 'hold on'
|
Japan11286 Posts
I know he was throwing away scvs, I just laughed when I saw them outside Sharp's nat, attacking an armory or something.
I think the general immobility of siege tanks forces split maps but then they transitioned into quick wraiths, then Sharp got destroyed. Piano really microed well imo.
|
Wow, that was a short game in the end. PianO was really agresive got himself a couple of tanks and a few marines and early siege mode which I thought was going to make all the difference but Sharp held it off with good SCV, marine and tank micro. GG
1:1
edit: I'm going to question the value in getting the Wraith if you're going to make an attack like that. It's quite a lot of extra investment to build the Starport and the Wraith and offers very little in offensive power to the attack. I guess crucially it gives sight to the Siege Tanks. So maybe that’s why he got the Wriath. Again I know nothing about TvT.

Game 2 Odd eye.
Piano at bottom right, Sharp at top left.
Piano tried to do some proxy shenanigans then cancels it.
Sharp ops to take an early expansion. Piano tries to put him in a contain. Sharp breaks out of the contain.
It seems that Piano was all-in in that. After his forces get destroyed he GG'd
Haha 1-1 series.

Sharp going for a chessy bunker behind the minerals. What map is this Medusa?
|
Japan11286 Posts
That was not a TvT, it was too quick :D
Really love these contain breakouts.
Anyway, Piano picks Bifrost 3.
Sharp starts at the top right, PianO at the bottom left.
|
Its a best of 3. Sharps won this. LOL

Sucks to be Piano right now.

Wait what the hells going on?
Did PianO do the same thing to Sharp?
Is no one mining?

OK, so PianO got bunker'd, but he had a proxy factory building. Broke through the wall eventually, and started slaughtering SCVs. Currently, both players have lifted CC to the middle, but it seems as if Sharp has the upper hand.

Japan11286 Posts
Both players have relocated bases. Piano at the middle 5 expo, Sharp at the opposite side.
Sharp attacks with rines and vultures. Piano pulls with 2 vultures. Piano repels the attack somehow.
This needs to be in the Cool and Unusual thread.

I buffered into GG, who won?
|
Sharp built a bunker on the high ground behind PianO's main mineral line and forced him to abadon that base. I assumed PianO had lost but noticed Sharp's Comand centre was flying away to. i think they must have done the same thing to each other. In the ensueing mess Sharp managed to recover quicker and get himself a few vultures and marines more than PianO and wipe hm out. Pretty fun game. i will have to watch it again and see what really happened.
It looks like they're having anouther game.
Sharp won game 3.

Its a Bo5.
If this was Bo3, I think I've seen shorter ones. But this set is crazy.
|
The opening post does say its a best of 5 to be fair. But it said something about a best of 3 all the way through that last game. Maybe it was advertising an upcoming different event from LovETv or something. Best of 3 was about the only bit I understood.
|
Ah, so it is.
Yeah, PianO had a proxy fac which let him bust the wall of Sharp, forcing him to abandon his main.

Neo Harmony(?)
Cross positions. Piano with 14CC at 1 o'clock. Sharp at 7 with fact going up.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Upon seeing 14 CC Sharp puts down his own. Vulture out for sharp.
|
PianO yellow T top right has got the quicker comannd centre and a good scout on everything Sharp is doing. So he must have the early advantage in game 4 since Sharp doesn't really have enough to do anything about it.
As I type that Sharp's Vultures start to ravange PianO's probes.
|
Japan11286 Posts
The series after this if she decides to do it is Bo3 based on previous test matches.
Sharp killed a lot of scvs in that vulture runby.
|
Sharp attacks with some vultures. Gets a tank mostly with the mine splash. PianO has killed a couple of probes with his Wraiths in Sharps base. But Sharp has turrets up now.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Piano's turn with 3-4 wraisu. Turrets going up for Sharp.
Sharp does another vulture runby and kills a tank before retreating. Meanwhile Sharp getting gols.
|
Both players moving out on to the map with a small handful of tanks and vultures. PianO has a few Wriaths flying around scouting and poking. Sharp feels confident enough to try and take a thrid.
|
Yeolseot (6) probes killed by Piano's vultures.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Sharp getting an earlier third. Piano kills some scvs with vulture harass.
Piano getting his third but building scv gets sniped. He gets another one soon.
|
PianO taking a third a little bit behind Sharp.
Sharp is trying to hold a very high opertmistic siege line. If he splits the map there it will be great for him. But its very fragile.
|
Thanks for the LR, nice to hear Sharp is putting up a fight!
|
I don't know how much damage that drop did. PianO dropped a couple of tanks behind Sharps third mineral line and a few vultures got in there too. Looked like he must have got quite a few probes.
Sharp is edging tanks close to PianO's third too.
|
Wow a really bold attack barrelling the main body of Piano's tanks straight down the front of Sharps army and trying to drop some more on top completely failed and that's probably all she wrote. Although since I'm the one doing the writing maybe that's not a great expression.
|
Disastrous attack on Sharps main along the left side of the map. PianO loses his entire army for very little gain.
Also his third is getting sieged.
GG, Sharp wins.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Sharp has the initiative, his siege lines are also closer to Piano than his own main.
Siege tank drop in the area at the back of the temple for both players. Sharp has a lot of tanks in his drop.
Piano sneaks by with his tanks to Sharp's nat. Piano got destroyed when he encountered tanks near the entrance and at the cliff. That was cute Piano.GG from Piano.
3-1 Sharp!!!
|
Lol piano ragequit his stream
Wow sharp, a well deserved win for once.
|
Japan11286 Posts
I thought Piano was going to get by with his TvT skill. I really underestimated Sharp in this one, well played.
Now, we'll wait if there's something next.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Must've have been hard. Sharp really outwitted him in the end there.
|
Yeah. I expected PianO to win. But he was a bit reckless. Saying that Sharp played pretty aggressive too.
|
Was it game 3? The one on Odd Eye was crazy I'm going to watch that again and I would recomend it to anyone who didn't watch this series.
|
Japan11286 Posts
Game 3, on Bifrost 3. The Odd-eye game was Sharp breaking the contain.
|
O.K, thank you. I don't know these maps very well. Game 3 on Bifrost we recommend.
|
I remember Sharp beat Skyhigh in a monstrous tvt with mass dropship and goliaths back in 2011 i believe. Wich was unusual at the time, when wraiths had completely taken over the metagame. Also considering Skyhigh being the tvt bonwja, Sharp was talented...
|
Awesome. Told Sharp he needs to win this one yesterday and he didn't fail me. Looking forward to watching the games
