Oh God, I'm late Semi's already hmm Dear is applying pressure at Bogus' nat Bogus has a starport up, and his siege completes, forcing the goons back Citadel and Archives are hidden, aswell as a robo coming up, 3rd and 4th gates being added 2 DT's are out
Ebay is about half way or so complete Bogus on 2 facts I think Ebay is up, starport has control tower up Turrets are complete, and Bogus spots the DT's
One DT dies off to tanks, another does a little bit of damage Academy is coming up now, and is 3rd fact Dropship is out, does not get spotted by the obs Dear has his 3rd coming up at 10 oclock Two vultures poking away at it, dropship turns around
Tank seiges up on the ledge, outside of the 3rd, 7 probe kills Vultures are dropped into the main, doing no damage The units are left to die, 11 probes lost in total at the 3rd Science facility is coming up, armory is up Shuttle is moving out to the island dropping a probe Stargate planted down Bogus is pushing with tanks and vultures towards the 3rd of Dear
So it looks like I skipped forward a bit Bogus' third was just assaulted by Dear, who lose all of his attack force Tribunal is warping in Vultures get into the 3rd again, lots of probes dying, but the vultures get cleaned up Even more vultures are pushing in again though All of the probes go down, and Dear is taking alot of mines
Dear basically on 2 bases, since his 3rd is getting raided all the time, he has a probe at 12 but there's no nexus there he's starting his 4th at 7 instead
Bogus well in control atm
On August 20 2011 13:25 moopie wrote: That was a very bad attack on Bogus's 3rd by Dear. Sent the goons in first, blocking the zealots from moving in.
I think he did that to clear out mines first, but not a lot of good since he lost 4 goons to mines as they traveled into that base
Dear has a nexus at 7 oclock, instead of at the island Vultures spot the 7 oclock, and catch the probe line More vultures snipe a couple of templar at the rally point
Bogus is taking his 4th at the 6 oclock island Dear gets a vessel that was scouting around And more vultures picking off a couple of probes at the 3rd 0-2 for Bogus
Oh Dear, emp on a good bunch of Dear's army and an arb CC trying to float out for Bogus' 5th, but gets pushed back 0-0-0 for Dear Bogus is knocking on his front door Dear is eating so many mines Both the 3rd and nat getting shelled The nexus at the 3rd goes down
Don't hate on STX, it's kicking a team down on their luck given that they've all been put up for trade. It's like hating on Estro and Stars back in 08.
Ebay is under construction Lings run past the marines, two firebats pop out in time though, 3 lings left alive in the main 3 creep colonys are at the nat all morphing to sunkens One ling left alive Bogus scans, and runs in Drones pulled off the line, but at indecisive Two sunkens are down, last one pops Mutas are out
Never mind we're back Lurkers morphing in Queens nest is up Lings are being added Vessel tech is soon to be up 5 rax total +1 attack for marine Hive morphing, tank is out, as are lurkers
Lurkers are burrowed at the ramp, and outside the bridges 5th hatch in main, 6 rax total Jaedong camping at the starport for the vessel Gets some marines, and scvs, but takes alot of shots Bogus scans and see the lurkers at the ramp, Jaedong pulls back +1 ground carapace done Lurker ling push Vessel goes down, and tons of MnM stain the ramp
Bogus has little force left of this army, marines are reinforcing though, All of the mutas are gone down, lurkers taking out so much of Bogus' army Lots of them are going down though One tank, and about 5 MnM left Defiler mound is out, and the deilers are aswell Jaedong gets the vessel, and lings come in to clean up the MnM
Jaedong has a 2nd evo on the way, and it looks like a 4th at 7nat Dropship is out and about, loaded up some MnM Clutch defiler gets the swarm off before it dies Dropship looks to be dropping in the nat Drones pulled, Queens nest is going to go down Bogus trying to attack from the front too, but to no avail Dropship and all gets killed off 1-1 for Bogus' marines
Bogus loses a third vessel He has his 3rd up at the mineral only Playgu on some MnM One vessel goes down, another is still up Playgu on the MnM and lurkers tear them apart, Bogus pulls back
Plague done for JD while bogus takes his third and beings his mech transition. Double drop coming from bogus but a huge counter by JD at his third forces the lift
Killer leaning in, thinking oh wow lol 2 ebays, and 2 starports Jaedong attacking Bogus' mineral only Forced to lift 2 dropships drop in the main, they get taken out as they try to ferry in more reinfrocements Pool goes down, the defiler mound does as well
Bogus trying to setup an expo at 5 oclock, forces the cancel Cow Cavern morphing in Bogus has a nice vessel fleet now, 4 or 5 Defiler had the chance to playgu, went for the swarm over lurkers instead Scourge trying to get into snag a vessel CC at the min only under lurker fire, forces lift and transfer
Bogus' main is mined out soon, and his nat is drying Screen froze looks like Tyrant took out a couple of the vessel fleet One muta trying to snag the 1 hp vessels, Gets em! Two get picked off Bogus trying to drop again, doesn't go though with lings blocking, drops farther up I think Lurkers still denying mining at the mineral only One dropship takes a scourge hit, one manages to drop at the 4th
Bogus seemed to be doing fine before he accidentally lost his army to lurkers. Even after that I was surprised at how well he hung on. I thought JD was just going to push after that and take it. He probably could have if he hadn't lost his mutas.
How could they it's winner's league format? Bogus also on paper has a decent chance against Jaedong.
They can do it by... sending a zerg...?
Because jaedong zvz hasn't been JVZ for a very long time so he is fallible. Here's hoping modesty in zvz kicks in and destroy the dong ;D. Lets go STX !!!!!!!!!!!

The Zerg would have had to play Dear... And if Oz was really worried about JvZ being shaky they could send Hiya. STX didn't know who was going to be sent out in the first and second set.
Lair is morphing for Modesty Pool is up right about NOW, as is Jaedong's hatchery Why do they keep showing those same two girls? Drones and lings attacking Modesty's lings Modesty kills off all of Jaedong's lings

JvZ used to be able to win with build order disadvantages supposedly. Been a long time don't remember the games. Now though JD had luck with Modesty getting the wrong scouting paths but still wasn't able to win with a build order disadvantage.

yea i guess thats true
I don't think so. People blame JD if he loses with whatever build he decides to do, but he really does 12 hatch 80% of the time. He lost his Bo5 vs Zero because he's too predictable with 12 hatch.
akjfhalkjsefhlakdfhlkjadshflkjhadsfkjhds I HATE IT when Killer's name doesn't TLPD'ize and I have to type it out manually, god dammit it's freaking annoying when Sangho shows up with his killer ID
Killer taking his 2nd gas and morphing spire a little bit earlier it looks like Lings counts look to be even I think Both players moving out with their lings Modesty runs into Killers lings though!
No Minidong 12 hatched Bunker starting at the nat 2 marines are there, Kwanro esque drones take out a marine and scv? but tget forced back Fact is complete for Classic, and 2 port
Was this the build Turn used on Jaedong? Was that Turn or Reality? I can't even remmeber Wraiths are out and on the way to Killer's main Hydra den is morphed in pewpew pew at the drones Hydras are out
Cloaked wraiths are pew pew pewing the drones, and hydras Killer doesn't have an OL with his hydras by Classic's nat I hope Classic goes mass wraith, and we see Keens from Kiler
Vessel tech is up, 4th rax is being added scv spots the 11 oclock hatch morphing in Mutas are out, and are heading towards Classic Vessel is out though, Science facility was flashing last time it was on screen
Lurkers are out Lots of lurkers and lings Classic pushing up twards 11 oclock, where all the lurkers are Lurker ling attaack on the force The tanks take out alot of the lurkers GG from MiniDong PERFECTMAN COME ON Awww Anytime comforting Killer
this openly scouted 5 Hydra cross map attack by Killer while Wraiths are ruining his Drone line gets my vote for worst startegical decision of the year

It might be quick, given the size of this map, but who knows. I've never seen TvT on this map (it's only been played once, on Dream League).

Probably because set 7 map is a terran map, and Bogus was already fielded.
It's as if my dreams and wishes were fulfilled and Oz made the playoffs, beat KT, Woongjin, STX, Khan, CJ, and finally reached the Proleague grandfinals.
And then they switched the format to Winner's league. Yay for hypothetical situations!
Wtf Jaedong ZvZ... man why you are so bad in this matchup Jaedong why. Given how zerg are outperforming terran and protoss as a race in the individual leagues, how are you supposed to compete for a title with this. T_T

most teams try to send out lesser played players during the STX cup. also supposedly last is our TvT sniper :\

Kal isn't there, he's supposedly on vacation (and I hope coming back). Map was Neo Beltway, its a terran map. Last was the obvious call.
I wonder who Oz will use to stop Bisu (assuming he's used before they're on their 4th player). The logical choice for most teams would be a toss player (Kal/Shuttle had it been STX that advanced), but Oz doesn't have a dependable PvPer. JD would be another choice, but Bisu has had his number for a while now. Would be interesting to see what Oz plans for the finals.

Honestly, I don't see jaedong 2-killing with the amount of SKT zergs and bisu. Here's to killer and hiya being on the upside : )
HiyA took a game off Bisu in WL, and has preformed well thus far in the STX cup. So he seems like a good choice -- another option would be Shy or Dear, both of whom would stand a chance... (not a great one, but probably better than the Z line would.)
oz winning should be a happy thing, but im not feeling extremely happy that they made it to the finals, yet im not feeling a single tinge of unhappiness. this is very weird. any other jaedong + oz fan feel the same way?
First anyone was telling him not to 9 pool. He 12 pooled in 1/2 MSL vs. Hydra and lost 5th set. Then anyone told him not to 12 pool but to 12 hatch. He 12 hatched 4 times in next 1/2 MSL vs. ZerO and lost. Now you tell him not to... wait what.
WTF people. What build Jaedong is supposed to use? Maybe he is just plain unlucky, he must play all the builds sometimes, just to be unpredictable. OK he has some problems with micro, but let's not talk about incorrect BOs...

Well no, JD has defended 12hat vs 9pool before. The thing is Modesty is really far from just "any" zerg when zvz is concerned.
NOOOOOOOO, KILLER'S WIN STREAK. T_T It's finally broken. And JD should just 9pool speed and pressure crazily like Killer does. He has the micro to do it... I believe in him. JvZ, please come back. T_T

Yeah, no Zerg could have lost in Modesty's position. Well, except for the Zerg who lost in this game, in exactly the same position:
Of course, in the LR thread for that game, people were saying things like "great won the coinflip"
I'm sick of blind JD fanboys making ignorant statements. I'm a Jaedong fan myself--he's the only player I even watch anymore (save Killer, recently), but I don't blind myself to the truth. JvZ has been gone for ages, and nowadays it's more like ZvJ, as Kanil said in this thread. Jaedong doesn't just lose with BO disadvantages. He loses with even BOs, and when he has a BO advantage, it's a tossup as to whether he's going to win. His ZvT is amazing, and his ZvP is fairly untested lately, but his ZvZ is awful. If you still deny that, you have your head in the sand.
i wish jaedong would train more zvz rather than solely focusing on zvt. practicing against terran to beat flash is good and all, but with most starleagues dominated by zergs you'd be completely naive to think you can even get a chance to face flash with poor zvz.

I think modesty got speed first in that game, and jaedong got lair first in his >_<
Pardon my ignorance. Didn't the format of this in previous years always have STX placed into the finals with the rest of the teams fighting up the rankings to face them?
EDIT: Found an explanation. Guess it was changed this year.

It was changed, but STX didn't have automatic seed into the final because it's their own cup. Rather, it's derived from the previous year. Since they won the first 2 years, they were in finals automatically, and got silver the last 2 years, so they just had to beat a team to get to the finals (which they did) for one of them before the format got changed.

?? Different build orders and different maps. By the time Jaedong got his first lings in Great's base Great already had more lings than him. Modesty had like 8 speed lings to Jaedongs 4 slow lings in the other game.
