i wonder if that 2 week delay made all the difference. skt basically lost their seed / resting advantage.

yes all part of the plan, hold finals during a typhoon so it gets delayed to give KT resting time.

Kind of ironic...

Everything went full circle...

The reason T1 remained number 1 in the team rankings could be attributed to the SKT Zergs stepping up when they needed them to, however, they lost the finals because their Zergs couldn't pull out a win today.

Interesting.

The last match was fucking awesome by Flash. The way he moved his tanks, sieging and unsieging them so perfectly. There was one part where he unsieged and best moved in and he sieged ALL of his tanks at once. Such a fucking beast he is.

I don't know if I buy the stuff about Flash losing on purpose to hide his true power level or whatever, but it reminded me of one of my favorite sports anecdotes ever, so I thought I'd post it.

The second involved longtime nemesis Jeff Bagwell. Maddux was pitching a shutout with a large lead late in a game early in the season when Bagwell came to bat. He repeatedly shook off catcher Eddie Perez's signs and threw Bagwell an inside fastball which they both knew was his favorite pitch. Bagwell clocked it for a home run and angry Perez confronted Maddux in the clubhouse asking him why he would throw that pitch. Maddux explained that sometime later that season he would face Bagwell in a more important situation and he would be expecting that pitch. Perez was still annoyed that he had "blown" a shutout. Towards the end of that season, the Braves did indeed play an important game against the Astros and Maddux struck Bagwell out late in the game with the bases loaded. Maddux asked Perez if he remembered the game months ago when he deliberately gave Bagwell the pitch he wanted. Perez had forgotten, but Maddux hadn't.

Well, to be fair to KT, KeSPA didn't know there'd be a typhoon there. Let's just say that was YellOw's farewell gift for them.

Only 6 clicks, really, since I assume Flash had all of them hotkeyed. For somebody with 350 APM, it's easy as hell. It may look cool, but that's not really what was impressive about that game, imao.

What was impressive is that Flash has clearly studied his past few losses against Best, concluded that he needed to take some fairly extensive macro risks in order to beat him and he did just that. Best, being the lousy player he is, didn't do anything risky, just macro'd up and found himself outmacro'd, outpositioned and outmicro'd.

If Best had done a 3 base all-in or something, Flash would have been in trouble. But Best never does that and Flash knows it. Bisu would have probably fared better but Flash was clearly on point today and I don't think he would have lost to anybody. Well, maybe Jaedong but I'm biased. At least JD isn't afraid to do 7 pools or 2 base all-ins unlike Mr. 6base 30gate macro.

tl;dr: Best lost because he doesn't take (enough) risks and Flash played godlike StarCraft.

At first, it looks like SKT is 3123876416 miles ahead, they are 2-0ing and got a coinflip Z v Z, and many guys say that "ohh KT Coach troll us" but I think they were successfull. SKT are 2-0ing bút they used Fantasy and Bisu, against..uhm..well Perfective and Crazy-Hydra. in my opinion, if SKT wants to win, Bisu or Fanta must be able to take out Stats or Hoejja. The turning point is when Hoejja beats Soo. SKT has Sun, S2, and Best left, while KT still has Flash, Stats, and this is enough for the Ace.
It would have been different if SKT hadnt sent Fanta first but one SKT zerg and save Fanta for Fortress or EoTS, just my opinion.

but consider it the other way around, Stats is known to snipe bisu, and you dont want fantasy up against flash. Perfective is not an auto loss and neither is crazy-hydra (remember he comes from stars and has trained zvz with zero and soulkey), if you send skt zergs into a coinflip match against the 4 KT zergs, you'll end up more likely to lose before ace since its not a guarantee that you can beat flash and stats with bisu and fantasy.

- S2 had a decent advantage over Hoejja in their game and displayed horrible muta micro eating so many scourges.
- SoO played a terrible game vs Stats where he was behind all game long
- Best showed very weak games vs Flash for a guy who had a full month to train specifically to snipe Flash and had two opportunities

Bisu & Fantasy were able to give SKT huge momentum going up 2-0 to be able take the series as long as other players were willing to step up (like Sun did), but it didn't happen.

On the flip side -- Stats brought his A-game when it mattered most.

I just got back from the finals, and man... what a roller coaster ride. First 2 hours were so great, SKT was owning and our side just had so much energy. But then it just went downhill, and I think everyone kind of began to... deflate. The worst part was when people started leaving before it was even over. Half the guys in my row got up and left when Best got sent out for the ace match, and the other half left halfway through that game. I guess it was THAT obvious that he had no chance. They never showed it on camera, but by the time the match was over, less than 1/5 of the T1 fans were still there.

And poor Best... When I left, I passed by the window of their waiting room, and he looked like he was crying. I really hope he doesnt take it too hard.

But yeah, I was really disappointed we didnt get a Flash vs. Bisu ace match though. I was so looking forward to it

Also sad that they didnt let me keep the flag lol.

Man what the hell, that sucks. And they call themselves SKT fans. Disgraceful.

Yeah, I find such behavior disgraceful too. They didn't have to pay a single cent for their seat and they couldn't even stay till the end to show respect to the players and staff who worked hard to get this finals going.

Urgh, maybe KT's line up anti SKT's line up :-s, you cant guarantee a win if you used Bisu and Fanta while you opponent still has Flash and Stats. Hoejja is unblievable good recently is able to take down any toss not named Bisu, and Z v Z is and will be always a coinflip MU, his Z v T is quite weak in comparison but SKT has no good terran beside Fanta, so its hard for SKT coaches: if they sent Bisu and Fanta early, they had more chance to win but KT still has their key player, but if they save them for later they may be sniped

To be fair Best was playing much better last year than this year. In contrast Bisu was pretty ordinary last season but in PL he's been almost untouchable this season.

So happy! ^__^ What a roller coaster that was though. I just think it's a shame they didn't send out Bisu for the ace. Other than that, a perfect day of SC.

Flash hwaiting!

KT hwaiting!

Bisu is a more intelligent player than BeSt. He possibly could develop a strategy or a in-game mindset that would be difficult for Flash to adapt to.
