also, what happened to the tigertoss and the soukey bonjwas? All knocked out in the preliminaries. D: Having a certain degree of randomness at the beginning of each OSL is good though. Fresh blood is what keeps the scene alive, after all. But it's good to have consistent winners too, because those legends are what keeps fans around. Hence the results of this OSL prelims, where Flash and Jaedong have a clear shot at another crop of rookie players, should make for an exciting set of matchups. Ehhh, Flash and Jaedong dominating everyone again? I certainly hope not. :/

what the fuck bisu. i want to see a protoss win a title again..come on

I mean, I'm just saying it's probably more exciting when a rookie beats an established player than when you have a whole ton of old-timers playing in the leagues again and again and again. Also, Flash and Jaedong are enormous hurdles (honest tests, so to speak); beating them is how real legends get made, and new legends are what keeps the sport alive...

wow STX demolished this prelim lol. really happy for hyvaa being able to beat bisu, but it sucks that we wont get any bisu games yet again this OSL.
|
I want this group in the dual tournament
Flash hyvaa - I don't like his 4 pool into 3 base games hero - for beating MANTOSS and Leta any other zerg, just to make thing more balanced
|
Bisu has been trolling all his fans in the OSL losing against a zerg player, his best MU is just nonsense. Hopefully he doesn't take this fallout too serious, he's one of the very few protoss players that has hope for another final appearance somewhere in the future

Also, it only happened in the first game, and its certainly not what won him the game. After the 5 pool him and Bisu were even (Bisu blocked it, lost a couple probes and some mining time). hyvaa's win was due to:
1) The second ling attack that caught Bisu by surprise, 2) great micro in all their battles, dodging all the storms and pulling back damaged hydras behind others constantly, 3) taking out all the sairs and 4) not letting Bisu constantly storm drop and abuse him with DTs (which btw Bisu used in every single game he played in these prelims, not even just against hyvaa).
Stop trying to look for excuses to discredit hyvaa here.

Did you saw Grape vs hyvaa right? He did almost the same thing (including a fake Hydra burst)
I'm not discrediting hyvaa's merit, I'm just saying I don't like that style, like I can say I don't like Fantasy's Bio. It's a matter of opinions.

ROFL Bisu lost to Hyvaa??? Always count on Bisu to bring out the best in PvZ except when in matters the most. Looks like we'll have to wait yet another season for a BvJ BoX series.

hoping for stork vs jd finals. probably flash vs someone unexpected again though..

Well, I'm going to make a small newsletter:
Killer won his group with relative easily. Baby won group B, Classic could have done something but perhaps today wasn't his day. ZerO lost last series to s2 who won the game, in a close end. Shuttle won his group easy, well, all were 2.0 and no stream. Not much to say. hero won to Leta (and beated Reach before) in the last bo3. SoulKey lost to juni, who eventually lost the last bo3 to Major, the dude who eliminated Best in a TVP macro game, Carrier favoured map. Hyun won his group, unable to say if was quite easy or quite difficult, since game wasn't streamed. Roro knocked out Movie and claimed his spot in the dual tour Tempest won his group for Aiur, Adun and Tassadar pride. Bogus won his group somewhat easy. Not much to say. Bisu won to Rudy but then he lost to hyvaa, who doing some strange but sucessfull build orders, with somewhat nice micro, won the group, beating Grape at the last game n.Die_soO beats Jangbi in his group and qualifies
and in the wildcard:
Jangbi manages to beat Zero (with a 2 gate opening IIRC), leta, classic and sharp, giving more Protoss participation in the dual tour.

The zergs and tosses are mostly mediocre or extremely inconsistent, but most of the Terrans that are left are all pretty good ( Flash, Fantasy, Sea, HiyA, BaBy, Mind, Bogus). too bad any terran besides flash and maybe fantasy suck at leagues. it would be nice to see bogus finally have some success. he's actually pretty good.

was this a pretty normal set up for OSL prelims? it seemed so brutal! so many top players getting eliminated

No, screw invitational tournaments. I don't care what's better for the majority of fans, I want to see the people who deserve to be there, be there.
edit: even if it means FBH gets eliminated by fucking food5 AGAIN

Bisu nooooo!! Still not enough to get one of the easiest groups. Not that unexpected though.

I am mad. ONLY HYDRA FOR CJ???
Hydra will win the OSL
