I was so bummed about seeing this result but at the same time I laughed pretty hard at your comment moopie which offset the bummness of zero beating jaedong

![]() Jaedong... is looking more like a mortal than ever. Sure he played some jaw dropping games recently where he came back from impossible situations, but his game doesn't seem dominating or soilid overall as compared to his prime =( Hoping that Hydra trolls us all by wining a consecutive MSL having already been responsible for the group Death

However 9 Pool vs 12 Hatch is still up in the air as to who would win. If 9 Pool is successfully fend off by a 12 Hatch, the player that fast expanded would have that additional hatchery advantage (watch ZerO vs Jaedong Ace match). So this showed that ZerO not only thought ahead (or Soulkey...lol) of Jaedong but he also outplayed him in-game as well. As a ZerO fanboy, today has been a great day. I will patiently wait for a ZerO vs Flash final. I know that many would expect Flash to go for some early timing pushes that will not allow ZerO to go to Hive game which he excels at. But As we saw today, ZerO (Or Soulkey *sigh* tired of typing this) have the ability to play mind games as well. Zero will go for some 2 base Lurker drop timing into Flash's main and stuff like 4 pool and proxy Hatchery plays. I sincerely hope that the prince will finally be crowned after all those years.

The more likely explanation would be that a aggressive 9poolspeed build isn't really all that good on that map because of the incredibly long rush distance. The initial 6 lings would still get there early because of the timings involved in the opening, but reinforcing lings would take forever to reach the opponent's natural. Those scenarios where the 12hatch Zerg is fending off the 9poolspeed lings but then crumbling when the 9pool's speed kicks in wouldn't happen, or at least not as powerfully as it would in other maps. Even if you do the 9poolexpo build, if you fail to do significant damage against 12hatch then you're going to be very behind anyway, as you'll be at a larva disadvantage AND a tech disadvantage. 9poolexpo in ZvZ is a difficult build to use. It only really excels against 12hatch, and because of this I'd say that it's just as risky as 12hatch or even riskier. The fact that Zero used this build on that map shows just how confident he was in that Jaedong would 12hatch again. He guessed perfectly.

Much is made of JD's vaunted mental strength that makes him such a formidable BoX opponent, and there's no doubt this is true; JD doesn't tilt, JD gets clutch. This mental fortitude allows JD to stick to his guns and his builds under pressure, but it is increasingly apparent it is coupled with stubbornness. JD will not be cowed by his opponents, and he will win his way. Against Flash in the Finals where Flash went 14cc every time, against Sea on Airliner where he battered him with mutas but refused to transition, and again tonight, JD has cost himself. A champion player who has dominated for years, JD's opponents have received unrivalled viewing of not only his skills, but his psyche. Largely unable to match his skills, they're now attempting to exploit the predictability born of his obdurate mindset. Flash has taken advantage of this, and now so has Zero. To regain his edge, JD needs to make use of his immunity to fear to make the best judgments, stop being predictable, adapt to his opponents' play, and stomp them down where they belong. Aside from this, it also clear JvZ is not what it was. In the one game with even BOs, JD lost the muta fight. I hope JD comes back a stronger player from this. JD fighting!

Nah just kidding, I bet JD though he could ride on his awesomeness and ZvZ shenanigans to reach the finals, were he expected to face Flash. Its the only answer I can find for why his ZvT is "perfect" (I dont agree on the slightest) and his ZvZ/P is lacking. Seriously in his game against Bisu on PL I though Jaedong had just give up progaming. Bisu completely dominated him and he did NOTHING. Mad props for Bisu, but when he loses against Zero (a player who is really good but not much on his list of achievements) and dominates Jaedong (considered by most the best modern Zerg), something is wrong in the universe, because thats just not possible. Im not really a fan of Jaedong but I expected more from him. Never mind that, I hope he helps Flash in his upcoming match because Hydra is hitting with full strength.
