The problem is that ACE depends on preparation more than anyone else. For most players on the team, fighting players from other team straight up just isn't an option. Like it or not, these guys were has-beens before coming to ACE. At the very least, they couldn't match the new guys mechanically anymore. And then they came to ACE, which leave them less practice time and less adequate training partners. From what I've seen, most of the time when ACE players won, they brought something new (or at least unexpected) to the match, and those builds and trickery that they prepared against that specific player on that specific map played no small role in their victories. Which is why Winner's League fucked them over, because now instead of preparing for one single player, they had to prepare for like 10. They just don't have the time for that, and most of the builds they came up with probably depend a lot on on-the-spot adjustments and good mechanics anyway now that they don't know who they're gonna play anymore. We already know they can't match the younger players in those aspects anymore, so once midgame rolled around they naturally would fall apart and lose the game. | ||
