Once again we return to a group stage for the round of thirty-two. Each group consists of four players; the group selection event determines their placement in each group. Each group must go through a double elimination format to determine which players will advance and which players are eliminated. If a player can get two wins before he gets two losses, then he advances to the next round. If he can’t, then he is eliminated. Two players from each group of four will have the chance to continue to fight for this season’s title.
Group A: (4/14 17:00 KST) Hydra 2-0 ► Advances to Round of 16 Light 2-1 ► Advances to Round of 16 ggaemo 1-2 Eliminated Tyson 1-2 Eliminated
With the group stages being done, players that have advanced continue on into the BoX format. For the Round of 16, matches are determined by the group advanced (A-H) from and the spot advanced in the group (1 or 2). The first seed of Group A plays the second seed of Group E, and the second seed of Group A plays the first seed of Group E. Likewise, the first seed of Group B plays the second seed of Group F, and so on so forth. All matches are to be played as a split Best of 3, with the first set played on one week and the remaining set[s] the week after.
The first-place advancing seed in each matchup gets to thumb down a map, excluding that map from his match. For the Round of 16, the following four maps (Monte Cristo, Dante's Peak SE, Circuit Breaker, and La Mancha) are used, and the missing map in a match is the one that was thumbed down.
Match A: Hydra 2-1 ► Advances to Quarterfinals Stork 1-2 Eliminated
The matches for the quarterfinals are decided by KeSPA ranking. Of the eight who advance from the Round of 16, the first-ranked plays the last-ranked, second-ranked plays the second-last-ranked, and so on and so forth. All matches are Bo5s, with the first sets of each match being played on May 12th, and the other sets the week after.
Group A: Jaedong 3-1 ► Advances to Semifinals Grape 1-3 Eliminated
seriously just put down group d as the semis for all i care. well, we all know one thing. FLASH TO DUAL LEAGUE!!! place your bets, who will get eliminated, jaedong? flash? BISU??? (god i hope he gets eliminated)

Wooooow, thank god we'll finally be seeing something more than WL once a week. Waited so long for this. Every group is definitely watchable except for maybe G (unless your into THAT kind of stuff).
I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since Club Day. Please don't fail me again Protoss. Hell, even seeing one hit the finals would be better than this long drought.
Bisu actually has a really good shot against flash, they are playing on Monte Cristo which is a new map. This should give bisu an advantage as flash seem to be a super standard player on a possibly creative/cheesy map. Either way, I hope bisu advances this group is insane T_T;;'

the 'deserving' players are the ones that play the best starcraft, not the ones that have a reputation for being the best. seriously, do you want tbls to be given free passage to the ro4?

[/spoiler] If that was the case, that would be the 5th MSL they would be pitted against each other. I think Jaedong's been the one to knock Kal out each time.
ROFL Zero vs Hero. I hope someone can knock Flash out before he manages to reach the finals, last couple finals with Flash in it were far from watchable.

Don't think the Kespa site has anything, but Daily Esports has the MSL Ro16 beginning on the 28th or something. Day 1 is on the 28th, Day 2 on the 30th. http://esports.dailygame.co.kr/calendar/index.php

they are arranged in kespa rank first, and then i think its 1st v 8th, 2nd v 7th etc, with 1st and 2nd being in different groups

1. Jaedong 2. Flash 3. Stork or Hydra 4. Calm 5. Zero 6. Mind 7. Leta 8. Horang2 or Grape
- given that Jaedong destroys Reality and that Calm humiliates Hyuk (which is expected, I should say). Stork-Hydra might be more open, but whoever wins will occupy the third spot. The same logic goes for Horang2 and Grape - unless Hyuk actually wins, in which case he'd occupy the eighth spot and push the last four players as shown above up one spot each.
Barring all this nonsense, the matchups would be: + Show Spoiler +
Jaedong vs Horang2 or Grape (lol) Flash vs Leta (lol) Stork or Hydra vs Mind (nice) Calm vs Zero (poor Zero)
Leta vs Flash? woo I love epic TvT sets hopefully Leta can bring his A game, kind of a shame Jeadong is vs Grape I hope grape does something great to make it a nice exciting set.
Surprising eliminations in group stage: fantasy, Kal, Snow. in Ro16: Stork, Light. Ro8: None.
Hydra should be vanquished, because two ZvZ finals in a row would suck so bad... and I love Zero, Jaedong and Flash.
edit: I suppose Zero vs. Flash would be the best, their games can be soooooooo epic, and in FvJ - they just know each other so well that it seems like finals will be 90% preparation, with very little place for surprise.
Its amazing that the newest crop of SC players can all rise once they fall. Bisu recovered from a slump so bad that no one else before him could recover from. Flash and Jaedong slumped less, but both recovered.
I think a new era has dawned on SC where Flash will be like the chess champion- dominant for many years and become a fixture of the game.

Hopefully that's true. Also, I hope Zero makes more deep individual league runs; he's demonstrated that he's a worthy title contender.

Even when slumping Flash still retains 70% winrate^^. However, with his wrist condition, Flash will be forced to retire sooner or later. That's sad, but it doesn't matter since his name will be forever remembered as the best BW player ever walks the earth.

Whoa whoa, Savior and the Emperor have some objections...

The Emperor, yeah. Sadly, sAviOr won't ever be remembered as the best even though he possibly was. So sad...even when he plays for fun on Afreeca people cuss him out. BTW, you should check out NaDa's Liquipedia page - it explains why he actually is the best player of all time. Even though I like Flash better, looking at NaDa's range of accomplishments and the number of years he was "good" he really is the best of all time.
