“Miracle Boy” Leta overcame “Iron Wall Zerg” Neo.Soulkey’s fierce resistance, advancing to the Round of 8 with a score of 2:1 in the ABC Mart MSL 2011.
Next is his interview.
Your feelings on reaching the Round of 8 in six seasons.
I’m really happy. Recently I haven’t been doing so well in Proleague and am doing well in my individual leagues so it’s pretty heartbreaking. I want to do well in all at the same time so I’m a little upset. I think I’m going to have to put in even more effort in order to get the momentum I have in my individual record over to Proleague.
What mistake did you make in the second set?
I was ahead of him with my build and I had also killed his overlord early in the game, making one of the best scenarios ever. I thought it was totally ridiculous of me that I was unable to win the game. After the game, Coach Cha gave me some advice, telling me “You shouldn’t have done that”, which helped me refocus myself. If it wasn’t for him I think I could have ended up giving up the third game too. I want to thank Coach Cha for his counsel.
But you still won the third set.
I controlled my mind. After the 2nd set, I tried hard not to get anxious. I told myself that I could play the game as I had prepared for it.
What do you feel of the build you used in the third set?
I used a build to counter mutalisks and I think it worked well. I saw that he had a lot of zerglings and I mistakenly thought he was doing an all-in so I overreacted to it. But Zerg was pretty poor so I was able to counter his mutalisks easily.
Whether it was because of the way they spawned, you kept losing marines to the zerglings.
The 1 o’clock starting position is the worst. I started there and I wondered if things wouldn’t go my way. But I think he changed his strategy after seeing my marine. I’m glad I had a lot of barracks.
You’re having a tough time on the Proleague map Beltway.
I don’t think I’ve lost that many times on that map. I think it’ll be ok if I just win in the future (laughs). I’m practicing a lot so I think I’ll be able to win more. And since I’ve reached the Round of 8, I’ll practice hard to produce a good record.
The Round of 8 is the highest you’ve ever reached in the individual leagues.
I’ve kept losing in the Round of 8 but this time I want to break this cycle. For my fans, my family, and my teammates, I’m going work hard to get to the semifinals, and then the finals.

I was able to win thanks to all the Zergs in our team that helped me practice. I also want to thank our Terrans for helping me cover my weak points. Every time we have a match, we help each other a lot and there’s a lot of teamwork; I hope that now I can do well in Proleague too. Please cheer for me.
