Can anyone explain this to me? It doesn't seem to make sense. Boxer taught iloveoov to play a boring, pure macro style game?

He taught him the importance of certain things for Terran. He taught him how to micro as well as he does, and he taught him how to think while playing, moreso than he did before. What's so hard to understand?
I never hated OOv, and I didn't like him anymore after he beat Boxer, but after reading the interview, I have to give a lot of respect to him. It has to be so hard to beat Boxer in the finals like that. So sad. It's so sad that it couldn't have been a happy ending between team mates, like Yellow vs Reach.
To whoever asked if OOv wasn't playing his best: he was, but he was hoping that Boxer would out play him. (In reference to the comment about him wanting to lose) Of course, he couldn't just throw a game, though.

Who has the best defense in progaming? Iloveoov. Who has the best offence? In tvt you'd say Boxer. I don't think it's any coincidence... Boxer didn't teach Iloveoov how to play his style, he taught him how to defend against and defeat his style...
oops =p

the pregame conversations were actually sort of heartwarming... everyone by now knows boxer's famous quote about OOv before he burst onto the scene about how "this is a terran that will shake the world" (or something like that). well in the live pregame interviews, boxer basically recalled how he said this, and he said something to the order of "i'm grateful to him for making my prediction come true." it was massively touching
it was just as touching when the mc asked OOv if he thinks he will win, and he said, roughly translated, "i will win even if i have to force myself to do so." clearly a tribute to how torn he was to having to beat boxer, but also a tribute to his professional attitude. it was cool~

Nice interview, thanks for the update uhjoo~ I think in game 4 its possible that Boxer may have not had 50 minerals after all his scvs got killed by the wraith...(!!) so oov could have floated his buildings and got a draw..one of the commentators said this was a possibility..i dunno if they're gonna bother checking it o_O

No. Boxer had a meeting with his fans at pub after the game. According to one fan, he said there that he had more than 50 minerals.

never liked oov that much, just hope the ogn curse takes him out of the game next time.

competition is cruel, communism for all

Boxer cried? Hahaha... that means Oov has managed to beat NaDa, Yellow, Boxer (arguably the top 3 progamers) and made two of them cry (NaDa and Boxer).
Go Oov!!

Very cool, I agree that Boxer's early game was strong. Game 2, Boxer was just so awesome, but oov managed to come back. Really nice interview!

yo hwan cried... and i cried....my heart was broken...

I didn't feel like doing anything yesterday. Same for today, though less intensity.

I think there is much truth in this statement. Does it mean Boxer will go downhill? The master-student relationship, oov has gained much from it, Boxer much less so.

i heard that the 4th game was exciting, anyone can describe some details?
|
has oov changed - i don't see his arrogance.
he says: I'm so sad. , I don't want to meet him in this kind of situation ever again
that's cute

OOv = truly champion OOv I like him, and i am sad, that there is no more people thinking in the same way.
|
thelucas: I can only agree, he is the best. I think he is without a doubt the strongest player ever in the history of Starcraft. I mean players are so much better nowdays then a couple of years back and Ilove is totally dominating despite how hard it is, it says quite alot... However he will sadly never be a very popular player since his style is not "flashy" and "goodlooking".

nice interview, he is indeed manner

Oov: The reason I was able to win is that I played at a subconscious level. I didn't play as I had prepared. I gave myself to the flow of the game.
omg, this is soo cool. The level of skill these guys have is unbelievable. Amazing games, amazing story. thnx Manifesto7 and uhjoo
