I got to the airport in Seoul and sat down across from a plasma display in the airport that was broadcasting a Xellos vs. JulyZerg match. Talked to a couple koreans about the match on TV including some 45 year old guy who gave me his cell phone number and some cassette tape and told me to call him when I got back. Pretty creepy. In the game (on Arizona) Xellos played amazing and I just knew he was going ot sweep the tournament with ease. I arrived at the WCG hotel, jet lagged like a bulgarian and went up to the desk and signed in and stuff, and then met Mazor, poGDI, Trek, Eriador, Clawson, and a couple others I am forgetting right now. All we did on that first day was sit around and talk. WCG was slow as hell in giving us our keys for our rooms so we all sat there as smelly disgusting gamers in the hotel lobby playing some retarded memory game called "Pack Daddy's Bag" with our strained brains that lacked the cognitive coordination necessary to complete such a task. Anyways, enough of this boring stuff. Second day we didn't do much other than meet people and talk either, just waited around for more people to come in and I slept half the day because I was still jet lagged. I met my enemies Twisted, Strafe, and Testie. We set up a best of 7 king of the hill and 100$ personal bet between me and Testie but he never showed up on the last day of WCG when we were supposed to play, naturally. But whatever, I'll still play that dodger online if he wants, I can't really call him a maphacker anymore now that he did pretty well in the whole WCG scene this year. Refereeing Need For Speed was rather hard, because instead of 6 ref's and a head admin, we had 3 refs that knew virtually nothing about the game and one of them (SLoG) is a lazy bastard who pretended to be sick and did absolutely no work. I had to issue several on site bans during the day, but only got a chance to real life IP ban one persistent camera man who underestimated my wrath because I asked him to leave the first time politely. I even told the SUMA GO manager to get the fuck out and was like SHIT when I realized it was him. Kids for this game were asking us two refs all kinds of stuff about their cars, the rules, and how to make their computers work. We had no idea about any of that stuff for the first few hours so it was rather stressful. But after that Vince (slog's friend from NYC that was the exact opposite of him) and I were efficient enough for me to watch some starcraft matches that were taking place in the arena next to mine. Xellos looked incredibly strong from what I saw and only affirmed what I thought about him winning the tournament for sure. People were drinking like 4 nights in a row at the hotel and it was fun as hell every time. All in all going to WCG was incredibly worth it even though I was working for a lot of it and didn't get to see a whole lot of the games. Didn't play as much poker as I expected even though most people were playing poker every night. It's just not that fun at that low of stakes. Some idiot beat me allin me AK him JT. WCG really needs to change the format. They need to make it bigger groups, but still with only top 2 from each group qualifying into a top 16. From that top 16 it should be double elimination and best 2 outa 3 instead of a single elimination 32 man tournament. Too much bracket luck involved that way. Beast got an incredibly easy bracket relatively and got a rank higher than his skill level would normally accomplish. But he got the job done, much credit to him for consistent strong play (except his games vs. xellos...sad...T_T). They also need new maps. Top 4 all terran? :[
This is where I talk shit about everyone at WCG:
Fisheye: Most people think he's a cocky asshole, but he's just down to earth and confident at the same time but most people don't see it. He was probably the most frustrated out of anyone about the WCG setup/maps.
Twisted: I wanted to punch him in the face at all times.
Midas: Most humble and nice looking Korean ever.
Wicked: Great guy, though I didn't know who the hell he was before WCG.
Strafe: WTF he made me feel short. Don't challenge a psychology major in rock paper scissors buddy.
Beast: Damn that guy was soooo happy that he got 3rd, GJ Beast.
Androide: Afraid to look me in the eyes after all the shit he talked on bnet.
Eriador: <3<3<3<3 LZOL I never knew you met with Zia in real life in Finland a few months ago LZOL HAHA.
Hellghost: Sucks that he didn't make it through groups. Also sucks for him that I intercepted a 200$ MP3 player that he was going to get for free right in the nick of time.
Day: Rofl your waffle.
Tomson: Nice and humble guy. But there is something very very wrong when slog calls you "innocent."
Legionnaire/Razor: I hate australians.
Clawson: Guess he's too shy to speak english in real life.
Destroyer: :D Marc
Manifesto: Never got much of a chance to talk to him much but his live-report writing APM is rather high and he actually had a firm handshake unlike most nerds there.
FroZ: surprised as hell that Elky raped you twice, not surprised that you bolted with your GF as soon as you were eliminated.
Nazgul: T_T two years in a row not making it out of groups, akjfl;dakdfsjdk;ladsfjl;kd.
Testie: The way he talks and acts in real life is the exact same as the way he types mother fucking :O :D ^_^ ._. O_O etc etc online. Every time he talked I just saw those fucking emoticons spewing out of his mouth into reality. But seriously, good job and I love you.
VeG: After meeting you in real life and seeing how fucking hyper you are I realize why you seem so fucking retarded when you type shit online.
SuGoSu: You're a ratbastard for not getting me the beer you owed me. I don't give a shit if you're not 21, it's your prerogative to give it to me and fulfill your promise.
Draco: Man that guy is fucking NUTS when he's drunk LOOOOOOOOOOOL.
Mondragon: Real cool guy. Though, I did not associate with him much because he is a Zerg player.
maleorderbride: punk
Trek: Quit broodwar and become an actor. Do a remake of the movie dracula. You look and talk like him. And your decisive word usage like "possy possy" can cut through veins.
HurtNTime: Good to see you again JORJ.
Entropy: Dude really is the doctor of starcraft. Tad bit kooky but cool as hell and always on the scene with his camera for memory's sake. Awesome T-shirts.
Didier: Funny guy and Entropy's partner in crime. Always able to crack a joke to lighten the mood.
poGDI: Real calm and nice guy, even though he looks fucking nuts with his hair spiked up.
HaloRef: Crazed lumberjack.
Posse/Possy: Whatever the fuck your name is. I heard your name after Trek was saying that non stop and had no idea what was going on.
ErkenBrand: You are fucking insane. Not like crazy in aloud way, crazy crazy. Thats a good thing though.
Choblar: Stop smoking. You're too cute to smoke.
AmericanZerg: Guy appeared from no where but was real chill.
Trance: Wish I was there to see your drunk ass churn the butter infront of a bunch of clubbing negros.
RickSanchez: Gangster
Redcloak: Haven't played SC for years and haven't made a post on SCL for years but u got to go to WCG to be a ref.
Slog: You never fail to dissapoint, my friend. Thanks for being sick and giving me an excuse to not sleep in our room most nights.
FakeSteve: YOU ARE NUTS.
Vince: Guy doesn't even play SC but he came with Slog almost to protect his naive ass. If it wasn't for you I would have been FUCKED in need for speed.
Jason: This guy provided many of you beer at the parties and most of you probably had no idea who he was by name anyways. Fags.
Mazor: The war is on buddy, get ready. StarCraftGamers FUCKING SUCKS.
