Thanks for the OP. I'm really interested to see if JD can prove he's still the beast of PL. Entus is a good test for this. Overall Oz looking strong in this match up and I wouldn't be surprised if they won even without an AK by JD.

I think Hydra is going to be key in deciding who's going to win this game. Apart from Hydra, pretty much everyone else has mediocre/shitty vZ (except for maybe Leta but he's 0-8 against Jaedong).

So i think Jaedong's still on his 20+ game win streak against the hite players so if he starts for OZ there's a good chance for an AK. Plus I think his only AK from last season was against hite

Horang2 vs Perfectman, looks like Perfectman did some sort of fast expand with cannons and Horang is now expanding himsef. Reaver just came out for Horang2

Perfectman at the 8, Horang at the 2. Both have expansions. Horang built lots of cannons. and has a reaver out. 3 gate. Perfectman has a shuttle reaver combo out plus gates.

horang2 pushes the nat, perfectman holds with storms, taking out shuttle double reaver, but horang2 has too much goons, perfectman trys a storm drop but not enough

Shuttle Harrass from Horrang in perfect mans base. HT takes out some of perfectmans probes. Perfect man continues to push but it looks defended for now,.

The advantage seems to be in Horrangs favor. He has the high templar tech and most of the damage he took was from cannons being killed. His HT harass is very effective. Perfectman needs his second gas now.

Perfectman pushes with two reavers in a big battle. Meanwhile he loses probes to harass again. He was able to push back horrangs army with two archons tanking the damage. The game should evolve to late game now. Except perfectman keeps losing probes to a red shuttle!

Hydra is meant to snip killer later and having a shot in the ace match. But yeah.. Hogil would have been a good choice imo.

Leta is a good choice because he should be able to clean out some of Oz's weaker players assuming he's playing well. In addition, he does very poorly against Jaedong historically, so there's not really a point in saving him for last.

Perfectman has the advantage. As long as Leta doesn't have vessel, he can't pushout. PM's 3rd will go up unharassed. Leta can't make a dropship yet.

To be fair Lomo and espcially Hiya have been on the rise for a while now. During the last official fantasy PL Lomo cleaned up IIRC.

Snow actually expands before PM, guess he changed his mind, obs for both scouting around now.
Both have reavers and PM is moving out with goons and his shuttle.

Well from what I've gleaned from translated interviews, player contracts don't necessarily contain the same features.
But when July signed with SKT for that brief time, he actually received a bonus for each PL win.

I'm surprised that Perfectman beat Horang2 and Leta but Killer getting another 2-kill isn't that surprising. He's a pretty solid player (who occasionally fails miserably) with no particularly bad matchups (although he does tend to suck in lategame ZvT).

I found that odd and thought about it for some time. I believe the reason Killer was able to stay on three bases and win is beause that third base that protoss took was pretty hard to defend. That ramp is large and there is a lot of room to run hydras through it. Also, Protoss actually took the closest base to Zerg. Thus the Zerg opponent was able to focus on denying it instead of expanding himself.
So yes, staying on three bases is viable but that depends on the map and where the protoss expands.

Yeah i don't want to say this as the definitive strategy to use in ZvP now or anything, and Snow's decision to attempt a third at that position instead of commiting to 2 base vs 3 certainly helped, but you could see just by pure unit count Killer wasn't struggling heavily like so many other games i've seen recently.. i can just imagine JD immediately taking the 12 o clock natural then the 12 main and barely trying to hold the first push.
