VERY LONG, HELL OF A FIGHT Both players did so well! Reach actually used some magcificent dark templar sneeking in catching lots of tanks and scvs. Also Control showed his true skills, i gotta admit that he was really underated so far. This game had so many small and large fights i couldn't sit down a single second... it made me stand up! AND FINALLY the BIG CLASH and if reach didn't get his templars at the last moment it could have gone the control way beating reach. But finally the templar that did not work well today for reach did something in the end destroying many tanks gave reach the victory. Wow reach used some nice tactics too... I only thought he was straight macro player with no tactics. But wow he used those nice dark templars so well! Oh I forgot to mention there was the biggest drop of Starcraft League! One zealot drop and it killed around 4-5 tanks and 1 set of vultures!!!! Just one drop! OMG it was awesome. That helped reach a lot too. Anyway this was a classic TvP battle that ppl will remember. Control will get his lost respect back with outstanding performence and reach did well enough to deserve the final round! What a game by both players | ||

but then he tried to rush killing control and fucked up and lost sone units that he didn't have to silent control's army got pretty fucking huge, and i think he would have ran over reach but reach made an amazing clutch move zealot drop and blew up 12+ units with 2 zealots....HUGE | ||

I heard that the games were awesome, and that both players did a good job Now I'm finally relieved that fewer people will underrate Control's skills. He's my favorite Terran next to Xellos, so don't underrate or underestimate him !!!And it's great to see another PvZ final. I can't wait any longer! | ||

na do-hyun's mines taking out at least 10 of his own units was the highlight (they had a closeup of na do-hyun straight after that, priceless), then park jeong-seok's HT drop straight into the middle of the vulture/tanks and storming another 10+ units. park played godly except for the follow-up to his first attack on na's expansion. | ||

I've always said, it's not just skill that wins you the championship (skill is a givens) - it's drive and passion. I see some serious hunger in July. In fact, he's worn his ambition on his sleeve throughout this tournament - but not many bothered to see it. Until now of course. Look for July to take the Gillette final and finally (FINALLY!) end the Zerg championship drought. Man, what a story this guy is. | ||

That's why I usually vote for the newcomers, rather than the old-timers. I had hopes for Niza, since a 2 year break could really create a hunger for the game, but we haven't heard of him lately. I'm not utterly impressed by July. The games vs iloveoov showed that he can play very good, but dreadfully bad as well (his losses on Mercury and Requiem). I might be wrong, since it's probably no coincidence that he had won iTV recently. Time will tell. As for now I don't see him as a machine, like NaDa for example (my absolute favourite when it comes to consistency). | ||

But, here's the short answer: "coaches" help players analyze their games, develop strats and generally get involved with the players technically to help their game. They also show up at games to help players with advice, tips etc. On the other hand, team "directors" (the word I really should have used, but didn't because the Korean word gamdok can be translated into both "coach" and "director") are mostly administrators for the team, handling sponsorships and tending to the day-to-day management of the team, its staff and players, as opposed to getting involved with the players on a technical level. Some teams have both roles combined into one. The teams that can afford to have them separated. FYI, the new generation of directors tho (like SKT1's Joo Hoon) are also motivators and try to help the players find an emotional balance to achieve optimum results. The coaches do this too, of course. But Joo Hoon's especially adept at getting the most out of his players emotionally given his background in sports psychology. Now stop nagging me. | ||

How the hell is saying "You should consider the fact that Reach has been in the top 20 (maybe top 10) since he won the starleague, he doesnt give up and is always among the top protoss players" a pure guess? And most importantly how the hell is saying that childish? Explain? I've read Origin's post over and over and I cannot pinpoint 1 time where he made a pure guess/childish comment. Reach definitely has been in the top 20, many of the time top 10 since he was champion. ejai63 it seems that you're the one who needs to back up your statements with "solid evidence." Both mensrea and origin has their point of view, just that each person defines "drive" differently. No one is exactly wrong. I can understand from both of their perspectives. Although we can all agree that July has more drive than Reach does now -- he's never won the big one nor any other zerg for that matter. | ||
