I hope it's just a short trend and Protoss will recover soon. The fact that starcraft remains competitive e-sport for over 10 years and still has all 3 races should be enough evidence that the game is not imba toward one race. There can be a period where one race excells over the other two, but in the end, it always balances out.

game 3, jaedong was frustrated as he couldn't match Flash's sick uber skills and tried to all in. He sacrifed a lot of eco for those hydras (speed, range, drone cut). And becouse of the map he couldn't just only contain and try to catch up economically as Flash would have got another expansion by just leapfrogging few tanks and later on win the game since he is the god of starcraft and his lategame multitasking is not understandable by mortals. There are huge amount of JD fan boys and every time I only hear excuses from them. Sorry guys but RIGHT NOW Flash is the world's best player, and it's not a shame to get 3-0'd by him. ![]()

Look, in game 1, Flash did Fantasy's patented "build 1 of everything behind a wall-in" build. Jaedong has seen this before, has annihilated Fantasy doing the same build. It's just that Flash executed it a lot better, with better timing, and was able to blow up Jaedong's natural with his pushes. Similarly, game 3 resembled very closely the recent Proleague Ace Match between Fantasy and Jaedong. In that game, Jaedong saw Fantasy go fast expand on Match Point. He went all-in 3 hatch hydra, and rolled him. Flash knew that Jaedong had played this game, and, instead of relying on crummy spider mines to delay the hydra push, researched siege mode. It finished just in time. Moreover, Flash doesn't take chances against the all-in. He had like 10 SCVs repairing where Fantasy tries to skimp and repair with 3. Combined with the siege mode, he just held off Jaedong, and won the game. Anyways, my point is: some of the games very closely resembled Jaedong's recent matches with fantasy. Flash was able to predict Jaedong's reaction based on those games, and executed a little bit better to win.

Note, every natural must have a choke in order for protoss not to rage. Thats why its simple that every nat can be blocked with terran buildings, as long as gaps can be closed with scv's. good job flash Jaedong also shows that he has spent a lot of time on sunken defence, which is shown on his sunken wall in game 1. kudos to jaedong. btw. i dont think the game is up yet on Jon747

I think initially he though Flash was going mech and took too many expansions. Flash instead of meching just fast teched and got a really fast push timing with 2 vessels and 2 tanks by the time he got to the natural. Flash didn't execute it the best he could though, he lost his first tank and let Jaedong get defilers out before he could bust the natural, and that was due to a simple positional mistake. If you say Flash should credit his build to fantasy, then Jaedong would have to credit zerg players that had created build before him.

Flash was able to predict Jaedong's reaction based on those games, and executed a little bit better to win. I haven't seen Fantasy's games so I can't say for certain, but I highly doubt Flash based his strategies off solely Fantasy. There's more to a strategy than just what units are made at some random point in time. Builds are often tailored down to supply count and exact timings, and I doubt that Flash just used Fantasy's build and changed what he researched at the Factory. Progamers emulate one another all the time and adapt to a wide variety of builds. By your logic, Jaedong should owe much of his success to JulyZerg for inventing 2hatch muta, or Flash should owe his success in GOMTV Invitational to iloveoov for using the Double Armory build against Protosses. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that Flash completely ignored Fantasy's strategies, but I highly doubt Flash based his builds around just one specific player. And this is coming from someone who is a loyal T1 fan and would love to see SKT rise to glory again. I just don't want to take any credit away from Flash, I guess. He's really good at what he does and I think all his wins (and losses) were earned mostly by him.
