Effort won because Flash played well below his ability. Get it? I agree with this. Flash could have won if he chose not to use risky builds in game 4&5.

Fail logic, if Flash doesn't feel like bringing his A-game then he doesn't deserve to win, it's as simple as that. Therefore effort is the more deserving player. Just because he won games before they could get into late game macro mode doesn't mean he is any less deserving. If anything, more credit should be given to effort for knowing what timings would exploit flashes weaknesses (early game attacks).

I'm not making excuses for Flash and I'm not a fanboy. I'm just dissatisfied with the outcome. I want to see decisive wins where it's clear that both players played well and one emerged the winner. Flash played well below his ability so he lost. That's not good starcraft.

What you are doing is taking credit away from the winner by placing the blame solely on the loser. Your statement "effort didn't win, flash lost" is very misleading. It should read, effort played better than flash therefore he won. Maybe not "fail logic" like I originally posted, but it's definitely misconstruing the truth to soften up the reality.

I think Flash is the best player right now, but I will never take anything away from someone who played amazingly well. Props to effort.

Using this shit reasoning, Effort LOST games 1 and 2, Flash didn't win. Because Effort was most certainly leading both these games from the start until some poor play from him (but the reality is Flash played extremely well). Edit: in StarCraft, YOU are in control of EVERYTHING that happens from your side. If you lost, it was your fault, because it was 100% in your control to do something differently (except for maybe scarabs? lol). If someone wins, they did more than the other player and therefore WON.

There's just all these people making up excuses and trying to take away from Effort's win, which is completely unfair. No one in their right mind would claim Effort to be the overall better player than Flash, but he won on the night, and he played well to do so. Flash could very well end up being the greatest player ever. But this finals, he lost, and Effort outplayed. It's simple as that. (I fucking hate ALL fanboys, they never see the game for how it really is. Always blinded by rays of fanboyism.) Edit: anti Flash crowd harsh? haven't really seen it in this thread. Anti fanboy crowd? quite possibly =P

I completely agree effort straight up beat Flash, but also that on most nights Flash is the best player. I think thats the logical conclusion. Could effort beat flash if he was playing at his absolute peak? No, but how many times does ANYONE ever play as good as they can ever play? It's rare, plus effort just played masterfully when Flash made even one mistake.

Flash made some little mistakes, and Effort capitalized on them. That means Effort played really good too, Flash didnt kill himself.
