SKT1, the progaming powerhouse of yore, is now languishing near the bottom of the Winners League rankings. Of their top players, only
fantasy, backed by the wily Oov, is still performing consistently. Bisu, knocked out of the OSL by go.go, is taking a break in Thailand. BeSt isn't the dragon he once was. All three of these players have had trouble with Zergs, and SKT1's only remedy seems to be Hyuk. The optimist would say that the team is in transition; the pessimist would say that SKT1 is decadent, moribund. The current state of the team is best evoked by the poet Shelley, in his description of a ruined statue in the desert whose pedestal bears the words "My name is Oov, bonjwa of bonjwas: Look on SKT, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Facing this crumbling giant is STX SouL, a team that has made it into the Winners League playoffs thanks to solid players like
Kal and Calm and also to a surprisingly hot performance from their midtier player Shuttle. The first game of this match illustrates the contrast between the two teams: nowadays SKT is desperately fielding unremarkable Zergs like n.Die_soO and s2, throwing them into the water and praying for them to float in a late attempt to develop new blood and protect their inconsistent top tier, while STX can confidently send out Shuttle, who has delivered beyond all expectations.Predictions

A pretty harsh set of predictions for SKT. Shuttle, who is on a 10 game win streak vZ, should have no problems vs n.Die_soO. Despite this, since teams seem to stubbornly follow the Z>P>T line of thought, I expect them to send out another Zerg afterwards, either Hyuk or s2 (they could keep Hyuk for Calm later on). There won't be any surprise there either. fantasy, with a last few words of advice from his nanny oov, comes out and his experienced vP takes care of the upstart Protoss.
STX, having swept away the riffraff thanks to Shuttle, can now send out Kal. Kal is the most solid Protoss right now -- yes, he has delivered more than Stork in this WL -- and he put up a valiant fight against Flash, so I would expect him to win this game. If he doesn't, things could get trickier for STX -- Calm isn't so hot vT. Then again, fantasy isn't so hot vZ. Anyway, I've predicted that Kal takes the game, then goes up against Best. PvP is a finicky matchup, but Kal's momentum allows him to win and take STX to victory. If he loses, Calm is sent out and finishes the job.
