i just think a final with IdrA would have more "skill" in it than a mondi vs JF for example. And i think thats common sense.

//e: also i never said that it wasn't his fault. it was also bisus fault for dropping out against Iris in the Ro8. Was it bad for the Tournament? HELL YES

by "skill" you mean dying to unorthodox tactics/builds?
i am sick of this "everyone lacks skill compared to idra." i don't even understand what the point of that is. true skill, to me, is ability to adapt to various situations and knowing how to beat your opponent three times before he does.

your claim that idra losing makes the tournament bad is solely your opinion and your opinion only. a lot of people wanted to see nony upset idra and are more excited now that there is no clear favorite.

Idra had it comming... I mean look at the posts wayy back, so many people were talking about his interview and stuff biting him in the ass, yet no one really said NonY had it comming (maybe they just said NonY was going to lose or something. It's not like people suddenly start "hating" on idra right after he lost, well before the game there was criticizing and the loss confirms it

plain bad? hahahaha

The most importnant skill for the 21st century is how to learn to learn and the ability to adapt and change due to the context and problem you´re facing. Obviously that isn´t Idras number one skill. And also be able to perform your absolute best when it matters the most.

xiauzi ( hope i got that right ) was. And i guess JF and Mondi would go down in Flames. only ret, white-ra and nony can stand up to IdrA. And as we saw, nony can only through his race.

also maybe you guys are sick off the "everybody lacks skill compared to idra " posts, but i am sick that when idra loses one game a shitstorm starts. IdrA lacks against Cheese, its his extreme wide achilles thing. we ALL know that. BUT(!) Nony lacks in everything ( compared to idra ) but Cheesing. Micro, Macro, Mechanics, these are Terms where spectators can define skill. IdrA is the best foreigner in all of those. He is just so vulnerable against Cheese.

my point is you can't just say that idra outclasses nony in every mechanical aspect. because for all we know, nony clearly outmicroed idra on outsider.

blablablabla bullshit.
Micro, Macro, Mechanics, these are Terms where spectators can define skill

oh, a spectator can only evaluate a players skill by measuring his mouse and keyboard clicky? because thats all you listed, mechanics = micro, macro. maybe you should learn to use ur brain than you would measure their skill on other factors. this is a real time strategy game not a click fest game although it is a lot of clicky clicky.

Isreal won the war in the 60ies against the arab countries by beeing very quick and finishing the war early on. how lame right? they aint got no skill at all. why didn't those lamers wait until the arabs were ready for the war? Or the gay germans who walked over the benelux to defeat france, how lame they killed the neutral temple to walk into the main from behind, gay cheesers.

btw. what makes you think that White-Ra stands a chance against IdrA rather than JF? Isn't it more like that White-Ras style suits IdrA much better than JFs?

Yes, it didn't feature any huge macro battles or any strategical brilliance but the series was very intense and tbh, I'm delighted the ro8 featured so many upsets. The TSL just got much more interesting, I have virtually no idea who could take it.

There was no upsets in the ro8. I got 100% liquibet, and so did anyone who is smart.

I don't think we've seen the build idra used in a progame. Nony used a specific counter. His play was caused by idra's.

Idra's build has been used before, the 2 estro terrans and Flash have been going 1rax CC recently TvP. Also Nony's build is not new, 4gate goon PvT is one of the strongest all ins if T is FEing, I remember Draco using it vs Midas in wcg 06 and even tastless mentioned that in the commentary.

You can see it here too.

However, Backho starts off with a gas steal to force the 1rax CC.

One of the best PvT decisions ever.

I always wish and pray that protoss who gas steal do a 4gate rush afterwards. I am pretty sure not even Flash could defend that.

The starcraft korean way is supposed to be very strong against cheese which made it work like 20% of the time, thats why there is evolution into macro game, kinda like tennis ousting serve and volley.

Seemed like nony really tested idra the absolute fundamentals of the game whereas he only trained advanced macro in the CJ house. Such surprise plays or unorthodox builds are still evident in official games, idra as a progamer should have known how to counter those. Nony probably prepared only for a week given his personality. If he continued to stay in korea no doubt will reach full potential, but he made better choice for money and opportunity in his related field.

Mad props to idra though, although its not a wise choice to play in korea given he don't rise to S class, at least he likes what he is doing and thats enough.

The game on outsider was so fucking painful to watch.

Idra, how the fuck do you let ONE SCARAB get 3 of your tanks to red? I'm one of the biggest IdrA fans, but honestly I have seen better reaver defense from D+ players - at least they spam a bunch of turrets so the shuttle doesn't get to this range so easily. Idra just let nony trade a goon for 2 tanks - this is not a mistake A+ players should be making.

Last game could have been saved by blocking nat with another supply depot - it might just have delayed the push enough to get siege up and 2 vults out.

Now if they were to play a Bo50, Idra would win without a doubt, but yesterday his play was undeniably subpar.
