GOD I would be so happy about that though. My ideal finals at this point.

hehe mondi would eat nony alive. in the finals.

sad for ret but great for mondi. Hoping he adjusts his zvz for sen's aggro style and manages to beat him.

holy shit! two very close matches.

Gah..... from 10, I dropped to 38...

I was quite impressed by Mondi performance. I think everyone know that his zvp is beastly but it seems that his zvt is great too. Quite sad for ret though. I think he was the player with the best chance to beat Idra.

Reinforces that ZvZ is a disgrace of a matchup.
No wonder top Zerg players are getting zvz sniped in Winners League.

Yeah Mondi's late game defiler usage was amazing. That 4th game where Mondi was TWO bases down vs SK terran and he still hung in it for a while was just LOL. After watching that game, I knew Fenix would lose the series unless he won in the early game.

I agree. With the way ZvZ is played nowindays, it's not longer any real indicator of who the better player is.
Having said that, Rets response to lings was poor in pretty much every game.

No, ret...!
Goddamn mass zerglings... Every ZvZ I've seen ret lose to foreigners has been to zerglings. Ret knows that whenever the game goes to mutas, he has an advantage, but instead of being content to go into that phase evenly, it feels like he tries to rush to it and get an advantage there. Which leaves him open to mass lings.

I have no stake, nor do I care, who wins the TSL. However it would be a lie to say that ZvZ doesn't have significantly more "upsets" in it, and that it isn't the most fickle matchup where being the better player wont neccessarily get you the victory (BO's, lings out of position, unlucky/lucky scouting etc).

I think it's more that the better ZvZ player isnt considered the better "player" a lot of the time.

Thanks for the amazing obs and casting today. Really stepped it up for some of the most epic series of the TSL.

It's kind of different when you have 100% knowledge of what the opponent is doing, however. Like in game 5, ret could see everything in sen's base. It's one thing to lose to mass lings. It's another thing to lose to mass lings if you know they're coming. It may be a fickle matchup but I didn't see this as a fickle series... sen basically used the same strat every game and ret failed to adapt knowing it was coming.
|
It's as if you guys think Sen's bad. News flash, this guy used to rape everyone a few years back. Sen is a fucking legend.
Do what works. It's not his fault ret didn't adapt.
Stop trying to discredit Sen.

Really sucks that Ret had to face nothing but Zergs, i really wanted to see him kill people in the other MUs but instead all he got to play were a bunch of coinflips.
Amazing to see beastly Mondragon advance though, god his lategame is fucking sick!

i really enjoyed the games to well to bad chill couldnt commentate on the last game would loved his insight he is my favorite caster just how collected he is but can put great emphasis and detail from a person who undestands the zerg race so well.

A few major points to throw out there:
1. Day9 is the biggest douche in the history of the world. Seriously. If you take one of his vids, show it to a non-sc fan, he'll think douche. Show it to a 30-40 year old who doesn't understand internet lingo, he'll still say douche. Show it to a 8-12 year old that watches Hannah Montana, douche. If babyboomers knew the word douche they'd categorize Day9 as a douche. It must *suck* having a face that resembles a female organ cleaner, but maybe that explains the nonstop piss that comes out of his mindnumbingly ridiculous mouth.
2. Ret is an overly chubby fail. $5000 and years into a game that the rest of the world has left behind, he can't even beat some retired player. I don't really care how good Sen was 3 years ago; he's not good now. He octzerged Ret to death, while Ret was floating his balls over Sen's face and still failing to stick his cock in. He practiced all that ZvZ, for what, to learn how to die to C- all-in ling attacks? It doesn't take a lot of practice to die to lings; I could do that! I don't need to watch televised cock-sucking while some fat Dutchman gets hammered in the rear.
The statements by incontrol (AKA lose in the first round of every tournament that's ever been made -> har har har fatass) that the foreigner scene is catching up to the pro-gaming scene are being shown as false as his attempts to portray himself as some sort of competitive gamer. NEWS FLASH: you aren't competitive if you're a 30 year old fatass who can't pay the bills because you LOSE IN THE FIRST ROUND OF ALL YOUR TOURNAMENTS. Ret has 1 up on InControl, he loses in the 2nd and 3rd round instead.
WAY TO BE WINNERS GUYS.
