TOTAL BULLSHIT they should not have given flash the game but instead done a REMATCH because as he has shown with his game against Hyun on match point, he excells late game!

Thats what happens when you have a whole new setup for gameplay and try it for the first time in the most important match of the tournament. Really really bad planning... and to think, that the audience didn't even get to see them playing but on a big screen.

I'd be leaving early too.

I was hoping JD would just GG at the very start of game 4 to make it a game 5 for all the marbles. That would have been so fucking cool.

Epic fail by MBC. Very sad.

i thought JD had a pretty clear advantage in the 3rd game. and i thought flash was having an off day in general (or maybe he was affected by JD mentally who knows). but overall i'm disappointed with the series :/

And Jaedong doesn't?

If it was Flash vs. some no namer zerg, outrage would be more widespread

but this is jaedong

jae fucking dong

But I think a rematch would have been fun to watch

I really looked forward to this finals. I wasn't home to watch it live so when I got home, I was pretty shocked at the results. I rooted for Flash because of his recent perfomance and his monsterous TvZ. To be honest, I don't really like Jaedong because he plays zerg.

Anyhow, this finals couldn't have ended any other way. Flash looked so unstoppable and it appeared that Jaedong could be the only one who could stand in his way.

Flash fans will loaf over the free win to Jaedong in game 3 and always have in mind that Flash is better had it not been that way while Jaedong fans would say that Jaedong is still the best. However, there is no clear answer as to who is better from this finals. I guess this is what happens when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object.

They should have replayed the finals at 2-1 to Jaedong in a week. Flash didn't lose more than 2 games in that set, and its quite clear that he was fucked in game 4 after something like this. Those two reasons combined should warrant atleast some regames.

They should have just held off on making a decision on game 3.

Play game 4 and 5, and if one player wins both games, the series ends 3-1!

Now you've just avoided most of the controversy with your excellent referee skills!

While game 4 and 5 are being played, get your crack team of experts together and review game 3. Whether you replay it or call the game, you at least had more time to gather information.

Someone could still say that, for example, if JD won game 4, and Flash won game 5, that's not fair to JD, who would have ended it in 4 games. But it's a much more defensible decision in my opinion, when weighted against the balance of the other options.

On the other hand, to criticize my own position, if the series ends 2-2 you pretty much HAVE to replay the game.

It would look even worse to take a 2-2 series and declare it over because of your decision on game 3 than what they wound up doing.

Difficult situation regardless.

Im wondering why flash played the way he did. DId he not practice enough for this or did he think he could win without abusive play? Usually he might be able to but not if his player is abusive.
If we look at flashes recent performances we've seen 14cc and bunkerrushes and alot of risky things mixed in with strong solid safe play.
In this series he didn't do anything risky/unexpected. He opened 1rax 2suply cc every game except for the 4th set where he used a strategy that he had already done twice on the same map the last two games which makes it predictable.

We saw jaedong abuse the maps in a nice way. He played the zerostrat on matchpoint which seems to be flash's weakness on it. He did 3hatch before pool two games in a row on fairly large maps and he abused the islands on ultimatum and the fact that fightingspirit is zergfavoured by opening with a 9pool.
All the things he did made sense and was well prepared.
Why didn't flash do anything special, thats really odd. He could have used atleast 1 14cc or a prox 7 rax on a map where you'd think he wouldn't rush or something like that but he didn't. Nothing he did really made sense to me. I just felt abit awkward about his play.
According to Reach, he is the fastest learner he has ever seen. He start bw only like 2/3 years ago. Infact, his bw history knowledge is so limited, he didn't even know what the map Guillotine was.

Are you are he went two supply before cc every game, stylish? Double check the second game, it seemed like depot --> rax --> cc (so no two depot before cc).

He already overcame it in Bacchus OSL. This is the 2nd time he has broken the curse.

ye, i forgot about that one. since you can wall its easily done. but i'd rather see a 14 cc and then block with 1 suply 1rax. something special. we didn't see anything new or special from flash this series. he hadn't prepared something special in any game imo.

he did seem to have adapted pretty got to the zerostrat in the first game though since he placed his cc on the spot and didnt make a bunker early on. i just cant understand why he didnt have turrets in his main. the only reason i could think of after speaking to haypro about it was that he might have placed the factory superearly because he though he was way ahead after getting those 2 initial mutakills.
