The only way a replay would be fair is if Flash started with two scvs. Giving the game to JD only improves his position marginally (an almost won game turning into a won game). Giving a replay would improve Flash's position hugely (an almost lost game into an even game). Both choices are unfair but giving JD the win is the least unfair of the two. Replays aren't some magical fair thing that nobody can dispute. The player who was winning takes a hit from them. This is the best of a bad situation.

And I am pretty surprised that no one noted that Jaedong completely mindraped in the first three games.

So many were like "omg Flash will go with an advantage in the series since he can play standard, 14cc or 8rax".

Stop giving so much credit to players for the opening BO. JD got lucky.

I'm a JD fan and I couldn't sleep last night because I was just praying that JD would get lucky with his opening BOs. And he did.
Ya...cuz BOs for a series you have been practicing for for a week are just a coin flip...(sarcasm) Chance is involved but a little more planning and strategy are involved than just luck.

Going into game three, the series was TIED, and game three could have easily gone to EITHER PLAYER, as explained by many people already. Game four (really game three) was played after the idiots at MBC awarded Flash an arbitrary loss due to their incompetence at managing a TV studio. What do you think is going to happen to the players' mental abilities after you do something stupid like that? Game four wasn't a real game. And it was only the third game in the series. The players were tied up until the MBC studio broke, and after that it was stupid.

I think Jaedong had an advantage with his mutalisk micro vs. flash's corner-cutting defense. But Flash could have easily won the series despite this, because going to game 5 would have given him a chance to redeem himself on fighting spirit.

Jaedong did not earn his win, and Flash did not deserve his loss. The tournament was a fraud.

This is why MSL and PL need to install Resource Counter system.
is it patent by OSL or something? how come MSL dont use it?
That would solve all fucking mystery right there.

I expected this to be such a great 5-game finals match.

What a horrible turnout.

can't understand whys ome people defend the decision to give jd the win in game 3. if the game stopped earlier when flash just have destroyed the base at the 1 o'clock, i guess, and had this huge mnm force, kespa would've propably decided to give flash the win. and then look what happens after that.

that is exactly why i find it astonishing people think the decision was right..

would the game crash at an earlier points it looked like flash was leading but then after a few minutes behind he is more losing than winning the game.. what does this tell u !?

it is pretty unpredictable...

whatever I let it go before i get any punishment for having a different opinion than many here =)

It's not fair to JD if they restart since he was ahead, and its not fair to flash if they simple give JD the win. I'd say they shoudlve done FvJ rock paper scissors. If jd won, he wons, flash wins, rematch.

As much as I love rock paper scissors, I think your suggestion is absurd. Jaedong was clearly ahead in the 3rd game.... but these guys are progamers with the ability to turn things around in an instant. Who knows what type of gosu play Flash could've pulled out to turn the tables had the power outage not occured?? Thanks to Kespa, we'll never know.

Jaedong still deserves his title ^_^

This.

Out of the three finished games, Jaedong won two, and had a significant advantage in the third set when it was aborted. Clearly he deserves to win. Yes, it was controversial, but what are you going to do? Replaying the Odd-Eye game wouldn't be fair to Jaedong, his likely winning preparation blown.

Props to Flash for taking it like a man, unlike his father, and props to Jaedong for resisting any urge to throw game four. Hopefully we will see another MSL, but it's not looking good.

Now let's just look forward to Winner's League.

Game three should of been replayed. It wasn't fair to neither player that the game was halted.

It wasn't fair to anyone that it was halted. There was a power failure, and the game was aborted. We're discussing the decisions made after this. Power failures just happen, fair or not.

Oh, and it's "should've", not "should of".

Getting punished for a companies bad process is taking it like a man? Whats with the disrespect to his father for wanting some sort of justice towards his kids career. It should have been a rematch, Jaedong should "take it like a man" and adapt to a re just as flash would. All the maps favored T so there is no, do or die game plan.

No, not making a scene is taking it like a man. Abandoning matches and throwing games would just have ruined this even more IMHO. At that point, the best thing Flash and Jaedong could do was to simply play the fourth game, which is what happened, and thank goodness for that. You might be right that a rematch would be best, but that was KeSPA's decision (or so we assume), not Flash's or Jaedong's.

I don't think anybody gained gold from this. Especially not MBC. This was the worst promotion possible and they will have an extremly hard time to find a new sponsor. Maybe this was the last MSL to come.

Sad Stuff, oh well, I'm sure they'll make it up to each other with some brutal practice games or something somehow.

I really thought they would be more fucking TECH SAVVY though, I mean really, couldn't they reconstruct the entire game using the mapdori team + replays + vods in 1hour instead of this decision?

Do you seriously think that the fourth game would have panned out as it did if the power outage didn't happen? Flash was not playing like Flash.
