He was gas starved. How is he going to get sair/reavers/HT with storm AND DA with maelstrom?
Trade two HTs for two DTs and the game would be his. He lost many of those anyway, and the Archons were of not too much use. All it would take was one flyby by Shine, and he would be without an army for 1-2 minutes. That's gg.

Shine has had by far the hardest path on this OSL and you people seriously think he sucks?
That's just fucking stupid, Shine is a good player

That's just fucking stupid, Shine is a good player I don't think he sucks. I'm just like Stork better, and I'm disappointed he never thought of using one of the hard counters to the only unit his opponent was using.

I wonder if it had anything to do with his economy being utter shit.
edit: nah probably not

After spending ten minutes chasing mutas with HT and Zealots? Yeah, that could leave your economy depleted.

JD looked so miserable throughout the game. Flash is so freaking ridiculous... How is Flash able to deny the 3rd so well in TvZ nowadays? I think JD made some mistakes... or rather... expected Flash to do different things. 1) JD's gas was late because of the lings. I think JD expected Flash to make a bunker, but Flash built a depot instead. 2) After the 9 mutas popped, JD went for Flash's main instead of killing the group of MM wondering outside. The "counter" did absolutely nothing except giving up all of the lings and weaken majority of the mutas. As a result, JD was never able to make a third. 3) Somewhat related to point 2, I think JD expected Flash to go for a faster tech (i.e. 2 rax), but Flash was producing units from 3.
I believe the climax of this game was at your point #2, i was shitting my pants as to what would happen a few seconds after the mutas were produced; it was a critical moment in the game; the special force infantry was heading north; the mutas were heading west toward flash base; it was like an extreme roller coaster and i was in it. all i could say at the muta hatching point was "here we gooo!"

I was impressed how calm and 'just doin my thang' flash was. He played completely detached emotionally, but focused and sharp like nothing I've seen before.
I think the biggest mistake Flash made in this game was losing that single marine to a few lings ^^
this guy is a TvZ bonjwa at the moment.

Shine is serious.
And, its also hard to praise Flash's TvZ too much at the moment. Its really impressive, except for the fact that it makes the "most ballanced game" thing we all hold to be true look, um, not so true.
All fun matches to watch. Movie Fighting!!!!!

Where are the 'up-and-coming' Terrans these days?
We've seen so many Protoss and ESPECIALLY so many Zerg players rising up and making names for themselves lately, but the Terran race seems really stagnant, with just the old guard holding everything up.

That old guard you're talking about is single handily demolishing every zerg he runs into. Now I wonder why other Terrans aren't copying this style.
Is it because they can't...as in skill wise can't or is it because they don't realize yet how rape it is?

That's just fucking stupid, Shine is a good player He can very well beat Flash in the "most impressive OSL run" award ...
But for the love of god, it should not happen T_T

If Jaedong wins the RO8 and Shine makes it all the way to the finals only to get 0-3'd by Jaedong, I will nerdrage.

Jaedong just got caught off guard with that 3 rax instead of 2 rax. That extra rax allowed Flash to build so much more m&m and thus constantly roam around with a group to kill 3rds, ending the game.

Armor-upgraded muta/scourge Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapeeeeeeeeeeeeee 6, 7, or even 10 corsairs. It's not like Stork had the time to sit in his base building up a fleet of 24 sairs, either, since Shine was on 4 gas so early. Shine had a hydra den ready, and even if he didn't use it, it's not like it's difficult to go into a 4 base hydra if your opponent makes pure corsairs.

Honestly, this wouldn't make any sense to me. 3 rax has been the standard in TvZ and it's the least rax that I've seen before factory for a long, long time in progames. Sometimes players go for 4 or 5 rax early on, but being surprised by 3 rax just makes little to no sense.

3rax off earlyTwobase is standard. There's absolutely no way Jaedong could've been surprised that Flash did that.

TurN Classic Bogus

None of which have done anything. Atleast Movie/Shine/Zero make splashes in leagues. And Calm/Kwanro/Type-b did so last season (effort still kind of looks like Zerg-Sea. Same goes for Violet, despite my undying love for him)
Bogus has a shot in the MSL, I suppose, but Classic and Turn? Each for having one showy game against SKToss?
Same goes for Skyhigh who's on the up and coming Terran List.
But you know who's really up and coming?
Flash!
17 year old is making splashes! Younger than most the upstarts!

Flash's TvZ is amazingly strong.
I think his big weakness though is when he sends that small unit of mnms out to snipe the third gas expo. If Jaedong took that unit out with his inital 9 muta and 12 ling instead of going to the counter at his main it would've set him up much better for the mid game imo.
It's good to see him going back to 3-hatch muta though.
