Yeah that was a pretty bad attack by Effort. No wonder Shine won by such a margin - most of Effort's lings were stuck at the back and the ones at the front were getting attacked by two or more.
About Shine: he's like a Luxury who is actually good.

He's ugly? He just looks kind of young to me, not really ugly. A bit unique looking maybe, he just always seems so happy except when he's playing. Someone actually ugly would be like Hiya or Go.go.
Most of Shine's wins recently it's seemed like he's very effectively exploited existing weaknesses that other zergs had yet to do. His micro was impressive vs both Bisu and all the ZvZ he's been very impressive. He almost overcame the build order loss to calm with excellent scourge micro, etc. He's very aggressive without being all-innish in the same way Kwanro or Luxury are.

I have not seen him make one awesome game-changing move yet. I thought Queens in ultra-late game ZvP were quasi-standard. also he showed horrible multi-task that game getting over a hundred drones, no exaggeration, slaughtered by harass. again there may be one or two exceptions out there, but most of the time his opponent miserably fails, Fantasy, Bisu game 1, Effort, or he goes ultra-standard and wins in a boring way. I've noticed that all his facial features are kinda bunched in the middle of his face, which I find
kinda annoying. Also, I seem to remember his glasses being a bit wide for his eyes, so it looks like his eyes are crossed, making him look dumb (not saying in any way that he is dumb, just the appearance he gives off).
I took a long time writing this, so it's probably way outdated.

Shine is just really, really good for about the first 15 minutes, it's very entertaining to watch. he's damn near perfect before the late game, but i think that's why people don't like him (that and bisu fanboyism). everyone wants to see 25 minute macrofests with huge battles, but this guy can usually end it in 10, without needing an all in. If he ever picks up his lategame I think he'll be an extremely good player.

Yeah, I can see this. He does look kind of comedic but I don't equate that with ugly. Personal preference though.

No, that was Pure against some random SKT1 zerg. I rmeember it so well because I've never seen a proxy 2 gate fail that hard before. Against a 12 hatch, you expect it to do quite a bit of damage but I think Pure lost more zealots than he killed drones.

Ecstatic to see CJ win after starting off being down 2 games. Although I kinda feel like its only effort, skyhigh and movie that wins the games, and despite that being great and all, I wish their other players would win too. It's just after seeing much and kwanro leave, and iris slump hard and savior being mediocre, it feels like all I see from CJ is the rookie trio.

I'm so glad sKyHigh is finally back! Those three can easily bring 3 wins against any team, and come Winners League, they are fit to almost assure at least going to the ace match. If only Iris could bounce back soon... Him, a decent Savior and the rookies are nice enough support to make CJ top contenders.
