Boxer and fantasy fans I respect but most of bisu's fans show such little understanding of starcraft that it drives real fans (who actually understand the game they are watching) to hate the team AND the player. I think bisu is the best protoss in the history of the game but I love when he loses stupidly and his fans have a million stupid reasons for why it happend. (oystein I still love you) | ||

Huge generalization, but I suppose I can actually see this being true, given: 1) More successful player attract more bandwagoning and uninformed fans (meaning Bisu/Flash/Jaedong will obviously have more dumb bandwagon fans). 2) Many uninformed fans favor by race (e.g. Protoss players root for other Protoss players) 3) The majority of low level players are Protoss. What about Bisu or his play makes it enjoyable to watch him lose? I'm not trying to be whiny or troll or anything. I'm just legitimately curious about the mindset of anti-fandom. I don't take it as seriously as I think you think I do...I don't have 'contempt' for either of them. It's all in good fun for me. It's just fun to have players to cheer against, as well as players to cheer for. Having a player or two that you love to hate, irrationally or not, is awesome. | ||

Generally there's a logic to why people LIKE players (they perform well, have a style that meshes well with the fan's own style, create tense moments, etc.), so it's not exactly far-fetched that they might have a logic to disliking them. | ||

People actually give a shit about that? I always thought that either he's just humoring the interviewer by playing along with the meme, or he's too shy/awkward to realize that he's being trolled (seeing as the interviewers *always* bring up the maps when its Bisu). Not sure how that reflects negatively on him, seeing as people known all along that he was shy/awkward. | ||
