My exams finish in late November sometime and I'm going away for a month in mid December, but in between I can definitely play.
No you are playing ZvZ. I need to be able to beat you.

Oh, didn't know you were ACT. I went to St. Edmunds for high school.
Also I put your offrace down as B cos I dunno what it's at.

Del: are we allowed to offrace without notifying the opponent beforehand?

This needs a little Legionnaire!

chogoling: The maps will be known in advance, as will the player lineups so you will have to declare your race when your team captain declares the lineup. Note that this doesn't mean you are 'stuck' with a race - but you must state which race you will use for each matchup to give people a chance to prepare.
e.g. I might play ZvZ, ZvT and PvP so when I declare that I will play I will say that, so if the opponent ends up as a P they can expect me to be using P.
What I can't do, however, is say I am Z but then turn up there and go 'actually I am playing P' because the opponent would have prepared to face a zerg and you would have a huge advantage.
Slaughter - once more of the stuff is finalised maybe we can intice him over for a few matches between poker games

oh, so I can state I'm going R for a specific match?
|
|
I don't see any reason why not. Say if I say I'm going random, I'm still preparing for three matchups, as is my opponent.
|
But they won't know which one to use right from the start whereas you will.
|
You're preparing for 3 matchups where you know the opponents race, your opponent is preparing for 3 matchups where he doesn't know unless he scouts really early or you cheese and he finds out fast.
Although random should be allowed.
|
Just man up and choose a race, you're free to choose a different one each week if you like.
|
No random. Just pick a race, why is that so hard?
|
|
many people have a dreaded match up, just play it if you get it, learn something and hope for a different one next time. There are many games to play man
|
wow it's crazy I didn't know there were still this many Aus players!! I hope every country can start an initiative like this

i dislike the idea of offracing for certain match ups... in my opinion it should be choose a race, p/t/z OR random, and then ur opponent has to deal with it. not i choose this race if u choose this race kinda crap... what if u have 2 z players and they both want to tvz and neither want to be the z? (i mean this isn't far fetched since in my opinion its alot easier tvz'ing than zvt'ing at low levels on iccup)
we gonna have some rule that will decide on matters like this?
ps. i do realize i am under T/Z only because i am playing terran now but will go back to zerg if i get stomped around too much.
|
How about if you choose a 'main' race, so that you play 2-3 matchups with that race and you can specify an off-race for a specific matchup if you like.
If two people with mutually exclusive matchups play they both have to use their main.

What if you have a Z player who plays TvZ
And another Z player who plays PvT.
It jus causes headaches.
So jus pick 1 race, it aint hard.
