If you feel that the in-game music helps you better than music on the outside, go for it. All this thread is about is basically using music in and out of game may be of some help. Using your own music in game could be helpful in numerous way like faster musics will help stimulate yourself to move faster resulting in better APM. This also applies for thinking faster. If you know many strategies, but cannot keep up with them, maybe some music with a smooth beat can help you stay on task and get your stuff done. About music and distractions: From a personal point of view i have to say that music with words will not distract me with the game because i am listening to the music. Not concentrating on it. Therefore the words become somewhat of a blurr in my brain as i am trying to focus on the sc sounds.

A report published by the German Research Ministry in 2006 and analyzing over 300 published articles on music and intelligence concluded that "... passively listening to Mozart β or indeed any other music you enjoy β does not make you smarter. But more studies should be done to find out whether music lessons could raise your child's IQ in the long term. 2. listening to rithmic music can help to maintain game tempo. well i was just saying the Mozart thing as a filler, but really i mean if your reading about strats an stuff, it may help you remember. This also brings me to another point in which possible if you are reading a strategy with music on and you play with the same music it may help you remember what the strategy is.

So you get neither. | ||

When thrash metal is playing and my base is getting overrun, it's like a hammer banging away in your head while one of your bases is getting overrun. It's soooooo annoying !!!!!! For that reason, i strongly dislike having music playing while i play, and have for a long time. For the most part i've found it a distraction, and i just tune out when things get tough. I can concentrate better without. If someone can introduce me to music that will get me invigorated and tuned in when i am getting overrun, or things get close, i'd love to take suggestions. I don't have music like that. Maybe some epic pirates of the carribian music. :D iuno? ps. i'm just listening to some Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Symphony No. 25 in G minor right now. damn this would be awesome while playing sc :D haha Well because you listed like 2 things. Classic music and Trash metal. I would suggest something in the middle. Maybe some rock. Heavy rock. maybe something like Jason Mraz which has a little speed but also the cheeriness. It is all up to preference. Try listening to pandora radio and finding out what music fits you best. type in jason mraz or john mayer for those more calming rock that is not to slow.
