RvP on Paradoxxx2

This is Elky's matchup next friday.

How would you play that game?
- random T: can a quick M&M drop defeat a (probable) double nexus?
- random Z: rZ is better than picked Z, but still... could he go spire (since P probably won't start dual starport)?
- random P: quick reaver drop or DT drop? Or powering?

Elky hasn't been lucky so far, playing against T on Namyi ,Z on Nostalgia and now P on paradoxxx, and always being scouted very early. At least this time he won't be scouted too early, which makes it a 'real' random experience, and will undoubtly make this game very intersting! Plus his opponent will try his best (qualification is at stake).

His opponent will probably play safe, cannons and corsair to scout early, or if he gets early exp he'll get some more cannons than normal in case of fast attacking terr or protoss, mutas he'll counter one way or another me thinks.
So Elky could power more than normal because of his random and try to get control of map instead of attacking early.
Then again his opponent might think that and go for some riskier build, thus catching elky off guard

We'll see(or in my case read) soon enough!

I think Elky is back to playing Terran. Random would have a nice advantage on that map though.

He playde T again in dontremberwhatleague, but he has to stick to R in NHN, otherwise he has to announce his race 2 weeks in advance (or so; Waxy told about this rule a while ago).

And what would you do if you were Rainbow? Fast 1 stargate to scout for sure, but what else? Fast double nexus or not?

pvp he should definitely do a fast drop of some kind (sacrificing his own econ in the process.)

this could be both a 4zealot drop or a fast reaver drop or even dt, the important thing should be that it fucks a nexus or starport first build royally. dt is the most risky out of those three I think, but also the one with the highest damage potential. I guess he needs 1 goon vs sair build so that might fuck the 4 zealot drop some, but honestly I think it would be fast enough regardless of rainbow's build, as long as elky sacrifices econ enough. something rainbow is likely to NOT do, considering it's paradoxxx.

tvp he should power hard. I cant help elky here at least

zvp is a difficult one. he could try to do a really fast mutabuild (add second hatch after spire is started), but then he's pretty much just praying rainbow makes no cannons. if rainbow makes no cannons (or goons) then he can have 2 mutas above the peons while constantly sending scourges to kill any sairs from rainbow. however if rainbow does make cannons, elky would be dead. if he does something else then I think a 4 hatch hydra scourge opening could work out. but I havent played this map a lot :E )

random on paradoxxx can be a *huge* advantage. but only if your opponent guesses wrong, and only if you guess what he's gonna guess right.

Thx for the insight.

What is the BO for a fast 1 dropship M&M drop? Would you bring a SCV to build a bunker in that case?
A 3 SCV + 5 rines drop to bunker could be even faster, but could it work?

I really hope Elky will play aggressive rather than powering, whatever race he gets. Man, this game gets me excited... Strategy is so wide open!

for random tvp:

lift rax onto big main island, make 1rax m&m with ups to drop. get 2 dropship loads worth and move them close to the top right base. drop the 2 loads into the base. win.

Rainbow had forge to stop mnm, i think. And maybe he had confidence he could stop a reaver drop with sair.

I am not sure on the timing of all these; maybe i will ask a friend to help me figure it out and post. I am Zerg only, but it would be fun to work out the scenarios for the heck of it

the cool thing about random vs protoss on isle is that, no matter how good he is, if he guesses totally wrong, he's DEAD.

:D

so I mean you gotta pick something to counter. if you counter a mutarush you're gonna die if it's pvp, if you do a pvp counter you're dead if he's going muta. so the toss has to do some hybrid build that *defends* against every build but also leaves you slightly behind against almost every build.
