hey. I'm a real noob terran on the verge of D- but staying at D :D I have a lot of problems but i feel that one of my biggest problems is my base layout. Sometimes if i go bio my rax are all over my base and it gets hard to macro, but I can't put them next to eachother cuz of a machine shop or starport in the way :p Like where should my depots be, where can i put my 8 or so raxes, and where does the tech go? If anyone could give me a picture that's highly appreciated, but any tip in general is a big help. thank you!

You might want to download a bunch of terran reps and take note at the players building positioning then try it out on your own vs the computer. I would suggest doing this everytime you want to learn how to play on a new map since your base layout will probably different depending on the map and your starting location.

alright. and I was also wondering if I can wall-in on python with 2 rax and a depot? cuz i can't make it ling-proof :p

There's no need to make a ling proof wall when going 2 rax, the marines you get should be enough to stop lings, ling proof block is for mech builds.

or, if they go 9 pool or something, just block with 2 scvs with marines behind all on hold position.

generally try to make a "macro area" and a depot area, just watch some pro replays and take extra note on where they build their stuff, and yes you can wall on all python positions, but not lingproof, which they dont need to be anyway (bio, can handle it/use scvs, mech you got vultures)

what i do is set certain spots for certain buildings
like
leave the middle of my base for macro and the upper/side parts for tech/supplies
also
you could watch some progamers and how they set up their bases
for protoss
i try to copy bisu's base layouts
and for terran, i copy flash's

I think about where I want everything to be positioned while I'm on 5/10 until about 9/10, usually keeping production buildings closest to access routes.
