Also, what settings do people recommend? I'm on 800DPI (for SC, 1800 normally) and 500Hz polling rate. My software sensitivity is half-way up (no acceleration), but that's hard to judge for most people since I run Linux, not Windows.

It's really not that much smaller than my Logitech LX3, but I can certainly do the fingertip grip as described here: http://www2.razerzone.com/MouseGuide/html/fingertipgrip.php . In fact, the proportions are similar between my hand and the picture, and I have 18.5cm hands from base to tip of middle finger. It seems right but will take some getting used to. Hope this helps someone. Also, what settings do people recommend? I'm on 800DPI (for SC, 1800 normally) and 500Hz polling rate. Can confirm the Salmosa mini asian is tiny. TINY I can't emphasize just how small this mouse is and I consistently complain about mice being too big! It makes the regular Salmosa look large and it's almost difficult to hold in your hand, you can 'lose' the mouse if you take your hand off, hit a key on the keyboard and go back to find it. http://members.iinet.net.au/~scottylans/salmosamini1.jpg http://members.iinet.net.au/~scottylans/salmosamini2.jpg http://members.iinet.net.au/~scottylans/salmosamini3.jpg http://members.iinet.net.au/~scottylans/salmosamini4.jpg I honestly think it might be too small even for asian hands. I've got stubby little fingers and this mouse is small. I'd say read overskys mouse guide and stick with the regular Salmosa. Hope this helps someone - welcome to PM for more info or pics if need be.

Why would I want it to taper down at the left and right like that? It looks uncomfortable and less surface area for fingers to rest.

The main difference in terms of actual play is the feel, its got a nice rubber surface that just feels smoother than the plastic surface of the salmosa. the surface area of the buttons is just fine for me, but i got pretty long and slim fingers. basically you just gotta go to a store and hold both mice in your hand which is what I did.

I played for one day with the salmose asia and then went back to the abyssus. Small is good, but at some point its over the top. The asian salmosa is about as big as a laptop mouse, so if you prefer playing with a laptop mouse it might be good for you. Ive also an Abyssus Mouse from Razer. (very nice for RTS imho!) but i ordered the Asia Edition of the Salmosa on ebay today (new). Just 15 eur. I want to know how tiny it is ![]() I love Mice! Im exited to see which mouse performs better, abyssus or salmosa asia for StarCraft2. ps: This Mouse is THE Mouse everyone wanna have! :D greets

If your hands are too big, as mine have become, you can buy a regular Salmosa (I did that and it really is a very good, pretty cheap, little mouse) which is basically Razer's version of a Logitech Optical. Good, cheap, light and durable. So either of them is good. So, it's defined by your hand size. (Pro edition Razer is really very small compared to a normal mouse btw, so be sure to check the dimensions) EDIT: Oh it's an old thread....why do people do this..

But i could imagine that the asia edition is that small that you only can use clawgrip, and not fingertip. ps. because its old doesnt mean it should never ever be talked about, or? ![]() greets

But the low dpi on the mini optical doesn't work too well for sc2. I have my mouse sensitivity on max both in Windows and SC2 and it still feels slow. Hmm search for mouse sensitivity here on TL and/or on ESReality.com (google) you should never ever make the windows mous sens above 6/11 or below. You will have skipping like hell then. If your Mouse is to slow, yeh, get one with higher DPI, but get one, where you know that it does not have any tracking issues on highest DPI etc. Asia Version of salmosa i got it from ebay germany some hours ago, new and just 15 EUR,- You can get a salmosa directly from razerzone.com http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169419400 But of course its expensive there ![]() greets On August 22 2010 08:25 Xma wrote: what settings do u all use on it, because i have one but hate it cuz feels to slow or fast, unlike my mx518 that i can switch easily with the arrow things.. maybe im just not using it correctly On my Abyssus im using 1800 dpi/1000Hz/50% Mousespeed in SC2. The f*cking Mousespeed in SC2 just changes the Mouse Speed in WINDOWS, which is not very good! Some guy found that out here on TL in the Forum, search for it, if you want. So having 50% in SC2 is a must actually. Hopefully Blizzard will change that in the Future. greets

If so it would be great if you could take a pic or describe how it and the asia edition compare in size, i've seen a picture but the angle was such that it wasn't easy to tell how much of a size difference there was.

I have a DeathAdder, Diamondback, Razer Naga, Abyssus, Soon the Asia Salmosa, Logitech G9, MX500/510 (ive to search it, very old :D) I can do Pictures of these Mice if someone wants it. Maybe a Video, too. Ive just to wait for the Salmosa Asia Edition then. I was never interested in buying a LMO actually. But very much are using it, i guess it was the best mouse some years ago, and still is especially for SC1i guess. greets

ANY HANDS can use the small one. If you think your hands are too big, it's because you dont understand fingertip grip. Liftoff is not even an issue for starcraft because you shouldn't be lifting off: If you watch pro gamers play, they set their sensitivity so they dont need to move the mouse more than 1-2 inches on the mouse pad to go from the middle of the screen to the side.
