Their forum has so many errors. The message box doesn't submit the message, instead you got to type the message in the Topic input. Not to mention, everytime you want to reply, you got to type in the nickname + password. Also, sometime the message doesn't even submit and instead redirect you to some weird page.

This is a nice gesture, but really unprofessional. I won't tell my friends to go check this out because it makes CJ look like a joke operation.

I don't count english tag lines/random konglish as a full english access site. In terms of sites foreigners can actively participate in without a Korean social security ID number there are only 3 currently - eSTRO, Hwaseung and CJ. CJ is the only team with a separate English version of their site though.

I think it's appropriate that the list of CJ Entus accomplishments stop at 2007 just as sAviOr was getting rocked by Bisu. It's like everything after that is irrelevant.

Actually, probably it would be a pain. Considering that the hagwon I'm working at routinely makes stupid mistakes on our signs, and we're supposedly one of the "better" institutions in this city. English grammar etc really doesn't jive well with the Korean linguistic habits.

You guys can't assume the translator doesn't speak English well. Maybe he speaks English perfectly, he just finds it hilarious to write the site in Engrish. And he knows no one above him at CJ knows English grammar well enough to correct him. In fact, based on his profile, I bet Idra wrote up the English site.

It'll certainly look better than anything with "Hollister," "Abercrombie," "Tommy," etc written on it. When the average person sees someone with "Hollister" written on their clothes, he knows that person is a douche. When he sees someone with CJ ENTUS written on his jacket, he doesn't know what it means.

I understand Korean and English are vastly different and native Korean speakers without a lot of training in English are probably prone to mistakes (just as I'd be without tons of practice with Korean) but that's not really my point at all.
My point is that native/fluent English speakers are not that hard to find, and CJ only needed one for 5 minutes to vastly improve their website. Really the only explanation for something as poor as the English on their (Eng) homepage is that they just didn't bother/care to do a competent job, and there's no excuse for that.
I see everyone here is pretty excited about CJ's English site (and I am a bit too, especially if there will be a store!) but really how seriously can we take CJ's attempt to appeal to the foreign audience if they aren't even willing to spend a few minutes checking that the English on their English site is coherent?

Yeah, and not to mention the dumbest error (IdrA's ID as "XellOs") doesn't even have anything to do with English (no language barrier excuses there). I think it's pretty clear CJ put minimal time/effort into this website.

Well I just made a post on their forums with corrections to the most basic errors on the main page. I wonder if anyone who works on the site will read it? I see that someone has already made a post there offering to fix the English.
Sidenote: does anyone else get pissed off that Korean sites use Flash/scripts for everything so you can't link stuff? It's a pain in the ass.

Is this even an official opening of the site? The english version of the site is well, probably not too important to them, so I wouldn't be surprised if they just threw up what amounts to a WIP.
Also, although it seems like it may be targeting a foreign audience a bit, I wonder if they aren't just doing it for the novelty of it for their korean users? In which case, it doesn't really matter anyway.
Yeah, they should've just gotten Idra to spend 20 minutes to help them out, but GOM actually hires people to seriously target an english audience and their english sucks too.

I know this is probably stating the obvious here, but it's unlikely that the grammatical/language errors and general mistakes weren't anything to do with the CJ team. I doubt any of them would have the time to put together even something as basic as this website. It's more likely negligence on the part of the web designer(s) that they hired for the job.
