Artosis talks about a game between Luxury and Jaedong saying it was the best ZvZ he's ever seen. However in the context he talks about it, the match appears to be a practice game not a televised one.

Then at the end he says it's better than July's game on Guillotine.

I've already seen the Pimpest Play ZvZ between foreigners that went into late game as well as long ZvZ between Korean progamers like Yellow vs GGplay so not interested in those anymore. So I'm wondering how you would find these two greatest ZvZ matches as quoted by Artosis?

I have no idea about the practice game between Luxury and Jaedong.

As for the July game, July has had two ZvZs on Guillotine that are on the TLPD.

(Desert) Guillotine (Z)YellOw

(Desert) Neo Guillotine (Z)SaferZerg

however none of these are on youtube and no idea where to get the replays or anything for them. I did a basic search of the Vod archive on TL (not really familiar with it) and there was no Vods for July vs SaferZerg or July vs Yellow on Guillotine.

Well since that video was posted in February of this year, and he usually talks about recent events, with those two facts presented we can assume that the game was played in February of this year. Now the game was between Jaedong and Luxury. With this added, the game was played between Jaedong and Luxury in February of the year 2009. The only possible answer would be to search either Jaedong or Luxury in the TLPD and search for a match the players played against each other in February of 2009. Which brings us to this.

The fact that Luxury won with only one gas compared to JD's two is pretty cool but those other 1 hour pimpest play zvz games where they make hydras, lurkers, and everything else is the best

Thx for pointing out which game it was for Jaedong vs Luxury, and yes it was a good game. but il0seonpurpose you should watch the game again. You got the winner and loser mixed up.

Still looking for the July game though.

another very good zvz that i watched was zero vs jaedong (their second game). i know for a fact that that's online so maybe you can sate your appetite by checking that game out first.

Yeah it was a sick zvz.

+ Show Spoiler +
It shows why JD is near-unbeatable in zvz and how he's able to have 80% winrate is mu, that is/was considered a bit random.

I wish there was something they could do with the maps to allow for ZvZ matches to sometimes make it into the late game.

I came in here just to say that. Two of my favourite ZvZ games are Jaedong vs. Oversky on Andromeda, and Jaedong vs. Luxury on Andromeda at WCG Korea.

indeed, that was ridiculous. Only good thing about watching it was (since I am pretty new watching progaming) seeing how they desperately tried to stack mutas by targeting minerals/own buildings.

Uhhh...there was this one game...Shinhwa vs Yellow I think...

One guy goes mass hydra for sunken break, then the other guy goes hold lurks then kills a LOT of hydras.

This happens in GGPlay vs YellOw on 815, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

It's not really a sunken break though, it happens relatively lategame.

Xiaozi vs Satanik[/

Anyways I just made this thread because as a fan of pro SC I want to see all the "WTF" matches, the most entertaining ones and the highest skilled matches. So if someone really familiar with the pro SC community says they just saw the "best ? vs ? match ever!" than I want to watch it. I'll look at those other suggestions, some I might have already seen, but if they're good it doesn't hurt to watch them again.

Expect for apparently that one match linked to from IntoTheWow

if you havn't watched sAviOr vs Iris on Neo Araknoid - its frequently named among the best ZvT/TvZ ever and by many (including myself) to be the best game ever.

Jaedong vs Flash on Loki II is also extremely awesome, as well as Flash vs Bisu on Katrina

Reach vs Sea on Hitchhiker is probably the most exciting TvP/PvT I've ever watched.

If you're looking for great games in general, not just ZvZ, I'd also suggest Jaedong vs Lomo on Katrina from GomClassic season 1.

edit: and boxer vs oov on (Neo?) Requiem. Don't have a link for that one though.

edit2: and of course there are many more others could suggest.

I actually think this Jaedong vs Lux game was probably third on the best modern day ZvZ list. I'd like to say all-time, but ZvZ in the past with maps like Desert Fox and 815... just had a slightly different feel to it, which makes it hard to judge. Less technical, but maybe a bit more 'interesting' at times. Anyhow, my top two, in no particular order because I cannot decide which is best:

JD vs ZerO:

JD vs Oversky:

In any case, Jaedong makes ZvZ worth watching.
