[Shinhan PL Winner's League playoffs]

KTF - HoeJJa post-match interview

Your thoughts after the victory
I am very glad...but the team was slightly shaken after Flash's slip-up. Fortunately, Luxury-hyung stepped up and eventually carried us to victory.

Did you feel stressed to be matched up against Bisu
My job was specifically to play against Bisu...to accomplish my task, I focused very much during training on strategies against him, that's why I was very confident...though Bisu played an excellent game in the first match, I still felt confident of beating him.

Did you predict the opponent's opening?
I thought he was going to use the same strategy as game 1. Because I used a strategy that would decide the match in the early-game, it didn't matter as long as the opponent fast-expanded.

The Zergling glitch through the minerals gave you a big advantage
This isn't a new strategy, so I thought the opponent would be somewhat aware of it...but it seemed like he did not think about it at all, that's why it worked out even better than I thought.

When he used the probe to block behind the mineral, the Zerglings were able to get through the minerals faster trying to attack the probe...so that probe actually made it easier for me to get the zerglings through ~~

Did you expect to accomplish the 2-kill?
I prepared builds for maps 2 and 3, planning to make the 2 kill...since map 3 was Sin Chupung-Ryeong, I was sure I would be matched up against Terran.

KTF has never managed to defeat SKT on the big stages
I heard from my teammates that the team lost 3 games in a row to SKT in important matches...though our team was strong then, I believe our lineup is even stronger now, so I did not really take it to heart...as long as we practice hard, I believe it'll be fine

The next match is against Hwaseung
Although the opponent has Jaedong and a powerful Terran lineup, we have ForGG and I believe the information he can provide will allow us to easily overcome the challenge

Any final words?
I am very grateful to my protoss teammates who helped me train, as well as the coaches who were always leading the way...thank you.

You completed the 2-kill and carried your team to victory
Although I beat the both of them today, I still have not fully exacted my revenge...the next time I meet the two of them, I want to win as well.

Were you stressed by Flash's epic fail
I wasn't really stressed...I came prepared to do a 2-kill, and it so fortunately happened that the final two were left up to me.

How did you view the match with Fantasy?
Because I lost my third gas early, I thought it was going to be bad...but the 4 lurkers at his natural did a lot of damage, and I realized I was still in the game. Because the opponent brought his main army to reinforce the front and left his base open, the 4 lurkers were able to do enough damage for me to seize the chance at victory.

You won the last match with an all-in strategy
I thought that Protoss players lately are not very aware of the possibility of hydra all-in strategies, as they have not been very common in broadcasted games...I used the strategy to remind Protoss players of the existence of this strategy.

You decisively took out the opponent's photon cannons
The opponent's dragoon was defending the temples...if the Dragoon was at the front, he might have been able to block it, and also if the 4 cannons were already completed ahead of time, he could have blocked it as well...as it happened the 4th cannon was still warping in and was not able to fire for awhile. Best was also slightly late in pulling his probes, and I was able to break the natural.

There was no stress because of the rival status between KTF and SKT
Matches against SKT are always important...I heard the team lost to SKT in all the previous season's playoffs. But back then I wasn't on KTF, and I have experience beating SKT, so as long as I practice well I believed I could beat them.

The next match is against Hwaseung
The team has Flash who all-killed Hwaseung and ForGG who took out Jaedong 3-0 in the MSL finals, I believe we can overcome them with a big score gap.

You still have the MSL finals to prepare for
There is sufficient time if I start preparing today...I believe I will perform well in both competitions. Matches on the big stages requires experience and momentum...I will take the MSL victory and ride the momentum to take the playoff as well.

Any final words?
Much thanks to the teammates who helped me train and the coaches who have always worked hard to take us to higher levels.

They don't lack confidence, that's for sure! They also seem to put great trust in ForGG, believing he is the key to taking down Lecaf.

I have to say, Lecaf losing ForGG and KTF gaining him does seem like a huge blow to Lecaf in this specific matchup and I'm excited to see how the match is going to play out.

I hope you are not doing the Coach's interview, cuz i did it already in other thread =/

March 15th, Playoff KTF 4:3 winning SKT.
Below is coach 이지훈, Lee Ji Hun.

-Thoughts on team advancing.
We really want to win against SKT.. but knowing our skills has a gap.. so the team has a hard time practicing.
now that we won, proved that we didnt waste out effort, very happy.

-The competition was intense.
This is the first time playing SKT in PO since the former coach. Before then we played SKT in EvenT*(?) match, played 7 games, not winning even one, so there is a lot of pressure.. in this important match winning against SKT, the meaning is significant.

-How to prepare for the match?
When I was a player, the team was already rival with SKT. when the team lost to SKT, I also cried. Because of this rival relations. The team practice diligently. The company also supported us. The team players also realized how important this match was, so they practiced without questioning. Everybody was one.

-Starter, 815 was destroyed easily.
If 815 won, that would be great, but out Bisu sniper is HeoJJa. So we didn't worry too much. For psychologial warefare tactic, he used Zerglings jumping tricks.. but compare to last time, delated the timing a bit. In the end the strategy worked. In brief, taking down Bisu in game 1 or 2, we believed that we have the advantage.

-Because Flash's fucked up, the team was in a unfavorable situation.
In the past, after Flash's defeat, the team would lose the match. This time Flash really prepared, status is okay as well. We thought this could finish the match, but unfortunately the opponent sniped him. The team begins to shake, but luckily Luxury did a splendid display and helped the team won, advancing Play Off.

-Your thought on today's MVP is
Although Lux won the match, but I will chose our rookie HoeJJa, taking down Bisu and Canata. Letting Bisu get only 1 kill, I think HoeJJa deserves more.

-Next will face HwaSeung.
HwaSeung and CJ are powerful team, but personally I think SKT gave us more pressure.
ForGG is a tough player to deal with, but now he is in out team, I think it will be much easier.

-From now on, have you thought about using ForGG?
After he joined the practice house, he performed much astonishing than I previously expected.
Although he needs to be in the team ranking to qualify, but I think if there is not too much of a problem he will be playing. For greed, I will send out ForGG especially.

-Will be playing HwaSung, any last words?
For SKT's match the team practiced very hard, I am really thankful...
But we cannot be satisfied with just being number 1, I think if we keep out with our hardwork, we will receive good result.

I would cheer for KTF except it seems a low move to win by picking up a Hwaseung player right before. Almost seems cheap :/

ForGG went willingly, cuz coach was dick.
Even if he stayed he would still be benched in playoff.

Cool interviews, thanks for the translation. Overall I think Oz will be a bit easier for KTF than SKT1, so it seems like they have a good chance of making the finals.

Well is that 100 % sure , i thought he moved because KTF had great interest in him .... more then some quarrel with his coach at least thats what i figured out in his interview . Well its only natural for the coaches to not let him play if he skips practise or something like that or is doing pretty bad . Personal reasons shouldn't matter for the coach if ForGG is doing great in practise and ForGG shouldn't be pissed if the coach is not leting him play if he sucks in it ... or If ForGG plays bad on purpose , because he had a fight with his coach naturally he'll only watch the games from the bench . In the end the team is more important ...

If Coach Cho consistently acted like "in the end the team is more important" then Hwaseung might still have fOrGG on their lineup.

Anyhow, good job not-Flash KTF players for finally pulling through without Flash doing all the dirty work. Hope the fOrGG acquisition works out well for them.

Nice (slightly) sneaky strategy there - I like how this kid thinks. I was pretty surprised by the outcome of this (and a bit disappointed, but oh well.) Still it's nice to see a slightly unusual combination for the second play off.

No, I haven't seen any evidence yet. They're just assuming, though it might be likely. However, people forget how nice AnyTime said Coach Cho was after he left for ace in his interview, so I'm assuming they're pulling this out of their heads. I'll change my mind if someone could cite a credible source.

A quick correction, I think when Coach Lee says he wants to send out ForGG, it's "for pride" and not "for greed."
