So!! Zergling Shepherd aka Oleg managed to book the same place for a 2nd lan in such a short notice :D
The date is set for Saturday March 14th -- same time, 1 pm. I swear we'll have a more organized tournament this time haha

There were 15-20 unique people playing Starcraft by the end of the night, although only ~10 were there the whole time. There were also about 10 other random non-Starcraft playing people who showed up to play Rock Band or arcade fighters.

Haha, don't worry bout the age. I'm 19 myself. Then we got a few more people 19-21. Regardless, the love of SC is ageless
This will be at 268 Phillips Street. It's a complex of student apartments. The event will be held in Weavers Arms, which is the huge lounge, square in the middle of the complex (double doors, you can't miss it).
To clarify, this will not be just Starcraft. There will also be Rock Band 1&2, Left 4 Dead, arcade fighting games, and also some Halo 3 goodness (and others that don't come to mind at the moment). Oh yeah, we also got a pool table :D
Speaking of those coming, this time we are also expecting a rather large turn out from the WCRI student community, so no, this will in no way be some 6 sweaty dudes in an isolated basement playing SC.

Its not an internet cafe. You should bring your own computer (i.e a laptop). I personally don't have one so I just play fighting games and use someone else laptop with my keyboard when their not using it.

So last time I managed to get several fighting games there with the help of my friends. I was wondering how much interest there is this time around. Here is the list of games I may/should be able to get:
- Street Fighter 4 (PS3)
- Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii)
- BlazBlue (arcade)
- Arcana Heart (PS2)
- Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core (PS2)
- Street Fighter 3: Third Strike (PS2)

Okay, as I understand it, here's what TFR is planning to do:
- Hold 4 pre-qualifier tournies. Winners are awarded points.
- Whoever has the most points at the end gets the 1st spot in the Canadian WCG qualifier.
- The other players with lots of points compete in a final tournament for the 2nd spot in the Canadian WCG quaifier.
So if you miss this tournament, there should be several more coming in the future.
I was talking to one of the staff members on my MSN, and suggested we combine our next Waterloo LAN with their next qualifier tourney. Apparently they have a 16 PC LAN set up, plus a couch room for BYOC.

FYI, I'll be shopping at Costco today at around 6 for snacks/drinks. So far, we have caramel squares, coca cola, pringles(?), and Bacchus (jk). In addition, I'll be getting a lot of chips, drinks, and maybe some water.
Let me know if there's anything you guys want specifically. I'll check the thread quickly once I get home before heading out.

pack of 24 nestea
8 giant bags of chips
330 caramel squares
2.5 kg of ju jubes
I think this is plenty for everyone.. unless there's a lot more people this time lol

I'm trying my best to cut down on our preparation time. Last LAN it took way too long imo. I'll still need to transport TVs and fighting game stuff for Bill & Kenny but snack shopping's done so hopefully by 1:30 or so we'll have everything set up and get some casual games going. Maybe set the tourney time to 2? I haven't decided yet.

Looks like the fighting games will consist of Arcana Heart (provided by myself), Street Fighter 4 (provided by Kenny), and possibly Tatsunoko vs Capcom (provided by myself on loan from another guy), if there's demand for it.

An idea for our next LAN (assuming we won't be able to use the WCRI Weaver's Arms lounge next time): we somehow seperate the players and the observers -- either into seperate rooms or opposite sides of the same room. 'Cause I gotta be honest: it's really boring to observe a game when you can't talk about what's happening with the other observers. (And you can't shit-talk the players behind their backs, either. )
Edit: I estimate I have about 100 vanilla caramel squares lying around my house, now. Also, there are 3 opened bags of chips and about 10 unopened cans of coke. Anyone want to help me finish this stuff in the coming week? (Like a brief get-together to watch Korean SC or play some Arcana or Street Fighter.) My teeth are getting raped harder than a certain terran who didn't scout.
