In addition, it's probably best of 1 games, too, which is why there doesn't seem to be a single real pro left anymore: it's just ogogo, the winner of skehgus_kr vs kdk4321_kr, and the winner of the previous game's loser vs xiexz_kr. This is really ridiculous -_-;; . Well, on the plus side, this gives the other top nations a good shot at getting the Gold, much better than if Nada, Yellow, Boxer, Xellos, Nal_Ra, etc. were participating. Or I could be wrong about the format. Let's hope I am .

It seems like mostly players who aren't doing much in any leagues made it to the top. Probably because they weren't occupied with any TV league practice. Well, I did see Control playing in something a week or two ago, and I saw HOT on today's all-star game, but I haven't seen ogogo or Rage in anything recently. Even with players like NaDa, Boxer, Yellow, Zeus, Nal_rA, etc, there's always the chance that foreign gosu players of Naz, Froz, Elky, Blackman, etc caliber will beat them. With players like Control, HOT, ogogo, and Rage the chances will no doubt be much higher. I guess it might be a good thing for the foreign BW presence, but it also might be the beginning of decline in BW popularity in Korea. Or maybe just general disinterest in WCG (most of my friends here don't care much about WCG anyway, too focused on starleague and MBC league, etc). Guess Korea will just have to put more fighting spirit into FIFA. -_-;;

Sure the one, and done format makes it hard for the best players too win. Still I think It adds something too it. Maybe the overall best players wont win, or even get too the finals, but the best player on that day will. It lets the underdog have a bit better of a shot, but I think boxer showed the favoret still has a good chance too win. If he brings his A game that one day anyway . So what would you guys think if the final 16 at the WCGs finals was singel elim? I guess it would not work because where u got seeded in the bracket would matter too much, but I still think it be fun too see. Edit: bleww calm down also it aint all that serious man LoL.

Maps: Maps are imbalanced. Format: Format is bullshit. WHY IS THERE AN ONLINE PELIMINARY!!!!!!!! Online = Hackers. And then single elimination! Why practice for a tournament when you could get cheesed and lose anyway? WCG needs to get its shit together for next year.
Bill307

Nada unlucky vs Shinya, lost a lot of scvs to an exploding mine. Unlucky? I call that hasu mine placement. WannaB, a single elim tourney is totally inappropriate for determining the best 3. Double elim isn't perfect, but it's many times more likely to result in a proper top 3 finishers than single elim. Not to mention best-of-1 and obsolete maps...

Also WCG takes time and lets say u win and make 10,000, in taht time u could have participated in 3 leagues or somethin and if u won, u'd make more money. now about competion i dont know which is tougher...we all know koreans are good at bw but i think foreigners are cathcin up big time so maybe they stand a betta chance at winnin their more exclusive leagues than the more wide open huge WCG. offcourse i dont know what im talkin about so ...bleh 100% Correct (that you don't know what you're talking about).

honestly though is there enough incentive for the -best- korean players to put in the most effort for wcg? they have to retrain with those old maps and put up with online prelims (abuse/hack?) and then single elimination? no wonder boxer was mad they didn't seed him.

I'm thinking we may actually see a non-Korean wearing the Gold this year in SC. The competition's busted wide open now and anything can happen (I can almost hear Bertrand cackling with glee at the propect of having HOT grouped with him). And man, has Control improved or what. Even took out forU on HoV.

However, i bet Ogogo and Control will do awesome. Ogogo has a unique style that is very "Ogogo" and no one else. It will be at least interesting if nothing else this WCG to see Ogogo pit it against the best foreigners. As for Control, since the KTF Tourney, i knew he was gonna be good. I just saw a creative player that needed Control improvements and thats really it. As for the rest of the games, the current top level pro gamers are definately out of practice on these maps and it shows. It was neat to see how all the pro gamers did on maps they werent practicing 10 hours a day on however
