Yes it was, but his macro seemed sloppy to me.. always more than 1300 minerals. Why dont just put another hatchery?

i don't understand why Savior lost so bad. He did say he wanted to win WCG. I assumed that the reason why he wasn't playing like his old self all year is because he was too preoccupied with WCG practicing. Now this, and not only did he play poorly, but he seriously played like he didn't care.

Why did he lose so badly? It wasn't even close.

Seems that he vastly underestimated PJ, and also didn't play well for unknown reasons.

I think PJ outplayed him in the second game, where many others would have fallen. First game savior took fairly easily. Third game... well that ended up being a no-contest - but good on PJ for not letting go of his lead.

Savior uses only 2 control group of units throughout, is that typical for him? It would seem that zerg needs at least 3-4 control groups, but I guess savior is confident in his non hotkey unit control.

Savior had major "oops forgot to macro" moments in all three games. I don't believe having as much bank as he had is common place for progamers. Even in game one savior looked way off.

I dunno what you guys are talking about.

Game 2 savior did not bother to replace his pool after losing it, instead he went pure hydra mid-game and lost. Game 3 savior had half the supply of troops of P the whole game. He was severely out-macroed and the P played cautious or he'd have cut the time down by half.

Games 2 and 3 are some of the worst savior games I've ever seen. I'm not even sure he knows the maps very well.
If you can, then do. If I can, I will.

Jetlag for both players? China and Korea have similiar time zones. It's either that Pj arrived early and rested well or Savior drunk himself silly before the match. Either way it's his fault.

im just saying he could have not felt well from traveling aside from the jet lag + that place looks noisy as hell.

Normally I wouldnt make excuses for the korean players, but if you watch the replays he doesnt look very crisp at all, his multitask and control seem off.

PJ may have played well, but I don't see how you can possibly say Savior played well (compared to Savior when he was actually playing well a while ago). Obviously he was really good, but he looked extremely sloppy compared to the fearsome undefeatable ZvP of the savior days.

woot pj owns, really nice games all 3.
imo savior played well, but pj was just on fire in these games, perfect pvz.
PJ may have played well, but I don't see how you can possibly say Savior played well (compared to Savior when he was actually playing well a while ago). Obviously he was really good, but he looked extremely sloppy compared to the fearsome undefeatable ZvP of the savior days.

I didnt see anything that sloppy what costed these games for him, imho PJ just played better. + its hard to keep same level for big tournament what elapses days(u get tired) then for a TV game.
Thats skill too..

kroko, i think WCG would be considered more of a b reak compaired to there usual 14 hour/day practice hours, so i have to disagree wtih you on that. No clue why he played sloppy, but conrgats to PJ in any case.

imo his decision making wasnt as good as its usual self, but thats not what cost him the games (except maybe the paranoid game) he was put into really bad positions by his unit control and weak multitask, he reacted very slow to attacks and such, not his usual savior self.

Players might not care enough to put in hard practice, but once anyone joins a game and I can speak for myself and any other competitive person on this planet, THEY FUCKING CARE. He might have been in bad shape, but once the game starts he will try to win 100%.

"didn't bother replacing his pool" what are you retarded?

Do not forget the replay effect too, I think watching progamers on TV from obs view plus all the commentator and fan hypes make them look much godlier than when we see them with reps.

Pj played very good. Even in the game he lost.

And savior was horrible. Just horrible.

Outstanding play by PJ, very good BO, decision making and control of the game. I see he took notes from Bisu Savior in my opinion played well to some level, but PJ simply came better prepared.

Pj and sav should have a rematch on the same maps, because clearly nobody is giving pj credit for playing better its because saviour played bad..lol

I also hate this attitude, everytime non-korean wins vs pro, its cause the pro played bad, didnt give a flying fuck, is in bad shape etc...

I'm not even sure he knows the maps very well.

in game 2 if you watch closely his economy is fucked up, he can't replace the pool right away

I just finished watching them. Only watched with savior's vision, so I can only comment on PJ's play to the extent that savior scouted.

+ Show Spoiler +

Game1 Savior really hurt PJ with that smart move to weaken and then take out PJ's nat nexus. Seemed like savior took his sweet time after that, though credit should be given to PJ for that. PJ defended his expos really well considering the use of mass plague, imo.

Game2 PJ just outplayed savior, imo. The fast drop was very smart and devastating. PJ sealed the deal when he started using reavers at savior's nat. PJ gave savior a little too much credit in this game, imo... he could've ended it quite a bit sooner than he did. Still, it was a nice performance by PJ.

Game3 I'm sorry, I know PJ fans are pissed at people saying savior didn't care, but this almost looks like a thrown game. Just watch savior. He opens 9 pool speedling 13 hat expo on gaia, then while his lings fail to do anything he sets up a contain and masses creeps. Then when the contain fails he masses sunkens like crazy-- I don't know korean, so I can't say for sure, but the sunken formations almost look like writing. By the time he's done making sunkens he's unrecognizable as savior, imo. Meanwhile, none of savior's super defensive plays seem necessary. Just watching savior's side of things, I can't see why he went berserk with static defense. PJ's play did not, to me, seem to require such an enormous turtle. Savior's opening hurt his own economy enough, I'm not sure 2341234 sunkens is the best way to recover your economy. If savior was playing seriously, he severely underestimated PJ.

Thanks for sharing the replays ^^

Game 3 was pretty ridiculous, it didn't seem like Savior had anything brilliant up his sleeve or an excellent plan in general, maybe he tried to play psychologically as opposed to intelligently and tried to force Pj to think there was more to his contain that there really was to delay him more, then he went berserker sunkens, perhaps hoping that PJ would begin throwing units at him (which didn't happen). The nature of the map, with the open mid expos isn't a good environment for a zerg that like to expand a lot and sunken up in late game, so saviors play was pretty screwed after the failed contain and PJ had the unit power to be able to take those mids in the end. Maybe on Luna it could have panned out better but, savior wasn't able to do anything significant with his units in the end and payed for it. Props to PJ for carriers too, those were pretty cool.

In Game 3, Savior was behind when his 9 pool speed did zero damage. No matter how good you are, it's hard to come back from 9 pool speed doing nothing vs Protoss.

Savior was even more behind after PJ's first attack (even though Savior held it off) and Savior knew it. He did all the things that desperate Zergs who know they are behind do to try to steal the game, which includes exasperated lurker/scourge obs contain and mass sunkens to try to win with Hive units.

However PJ did a great job of squashing any drops, harass, and expo attempts by Savior and storm/reaver harassing constantly. Credit PJ for not letting Savior back into the game.

Everyone saying Savior didn't try, I don't buy that. He was desperately trying to hold on constantly that entire game 3, he was just too far behind from the first 5 minutes. The sunkens were necessary. Savior was down 40-50 supply at some points in the game, you need that many sunkens to hold that huge P army.

sktelecom t1 pj. even though i admire him for such performance.
after watching the replays i was really surprised.
savior played like if he was throwing coins anywhere on the table but not the center(the center would be the right move).
his resources were 2000+ and 1500+ at some points.
why savior played like that? i am really clueless.
pj played great dont misunderstand me. its just that this is too strange.
